What I am trying to do is download a bible where i can highlight and mark in on my surface pro where i can save it when I am done. I am very illiterate when it comes to this software and can not figure out where to go. Any direction would be greatly appreciated

Hi Kenny - and welcome to the forums

What Bible do you want to have access to and do you know if you own it?

I'm trying to understand whether the issue is due to having access to the Bible itself, getting it into your library or being able to highlight it.

Please provide a few more details and we'll be able to help

Graham

I would like to download a NSAB version of the Bible. Right now I have nothing other than what comes installed with the free software.

You can get a free 30 days trial here, including the NASB and other resources:

https://www.logos.com/buy/179156

After the 30 days, you could either purchase the NASB individually for $9.99, or as part of one of the base packages listed at the bottom of the page:

Jan, not sure if that's the right link - it leads me to an empty cart, and the product page seems not to be a trial BP

That's right and the most straightforward way to do this, if the NASB is considered essential.

Otherwise, the free Logos package (I'm assuming this meant Logos Basic) already contains two English bibles, the KJV and the LEB. I understand the KJV is for various reasons not everybody's first choice for a bible - in this case, if the NASB is not considered essential, I think the LEB is a good alternative to it.

LEB is a translation from the eclectic manuscripts that are used for nearly all bibles printed these days and it follows the formal translation philosophy very near to the manuscripts, like NASB is doing as well (which may include "wooden" wording and complex sentence structures). It is Faithlife's "own" translation, which means datasets and bible-text-related features will usually work with the LEB considered as default for English.

If you already own a BP, then the cart will be empty. You can try the link while logged out to confirm that it works. It's the C&P Starter BP. I don't think any other BP are available for trial right now.

Thanks, I see it now. Good suggestion for new users!
