I'm considering an upgrade to the Reformed Gold package.  The cost is approximately $900.  It's been about 4 years since I made a major package upgrade (Baptist Gold then).  The commentaries in this package are more appealing than any of the other packages.  I'm just not sure it's worth $900.  I also would get the Logos Full Feature upgrade.  I have no idea what that is.   I use Logos every week for sermon prep and Bible study prep.  The commentaries and the original language study tools are presently a great help.

Any suggestions or recommendations?

Wait till week 4 of Black Friday sale. I believe something is happening with Gold level. I don’t know if denomination packages will be included but worth waiting to see what is on offer before you make a purchase.

The various Feature packages are outlined at https://www.logos.com/compare/featuresets

They give you varying levels of access to the tools and capabilities of the software as well as some additional resources.

If you are a Faithlife Connect subscriber you will already have access to the functionality in the Full Feature set

A few thoughts:

- Generally a Base Package with resources you like, is worth the funds.

- to check I make a list of resources/features I would really like and give them a personal worth (for this price I would grab them without a second thought). Add that up, if it is as much or more as the cost of the BP: good deal!

- I think it is reasonable to expect a discount on upgrading even before the end of the year. 20 percent off happens. I would wait till such a moment. Even though buying before 18 nov will also give you a discount in coupon codes next month.

- Do not underestimate the feature set. It generally contains good stuff. Requires some training in how to use, but it can really boost your sermon prep. Especially if you are currently on L6 features....

It is a difficult to assess value in your case without knowing the specific commentaries and other resources that you already own. When I made my package purchase decision for Logos 8, I ended up purchasing Standard and not Reformed up front because the mix of resources in Standard were better for me. It may be worth comparing Standard Gold and Reformed Gold in your case.

Just to add to the very good advice already given above, I'll note that you could try asking FL sales (e.g., by email) for a quote for just the Reformed Gold library (i.e., the books, without the feature set), and they may be able to help you out.

You can get this on the web site also (it's right below the pricing information):

As the small print in the graphic implies, this option exists on the website for FL Connect users, not for everyone else.

So I see, thanks for letting me know. That's a bummer because it would be handy to have. I checked on a non-Faithlife Connect account and it doesn't even appear that you can buy the library separate from the features online (not without signing up for Faithlife Connect first).

Not to mention the fact that sales will sometimes give you a better deal than the website.
