Am I missing something?

Didn't Logos Notes use to create Note files by resource? When I'm highlighting (the highlight obviously becomes a 'note') my highlights are being gathered into a different Note file. Why is this happening?

I thought that my highlights use to create new Note files specifically tied to that resource.

With the new Notes Tool in Logos 8 there is less need to tie highlights to specific Notebooks as it is possible to filter highlights / notes by resource in the Notes Tool.

Having said that, specifying a particular Notebook to receive all highlights made from a particular palette is still possible by setting that in the Highlighting Tool - this is the same mechanism as in Logos 7.

Does this help?

I’m afraid I can’t post screenshots at the moment to demonstrate

So maybe I just need to figure out how to TURN OFF something in HIGHLIGHTING...

I don’t understand this - please expand.

What are you trying to achieve?

All of my Note Palettes where tied to 'Active Notebook.' So, I switched that to 'No notebook.'

I just don't want my notes from Keller's book on Prayer to end up in last years Sermon Notes for Acts...

The new notes tools default option to not assign your notes/highlights to a specific notebook is a poor model and one I do not recommend people adopt. It leaves in a position of all or nothing when you want to turn off the display of notes / highlights through the visual filters menu in your bibles or other resources. As a results highlighting for different study purposes can not be turned on /off as required if you accept this default no notebook option.

You are much better off creating ‘notebooks’ for different studies and assigning your highlights / notes to these to give you back the Granulat control over what is displayed when rather even if it takes a few extra steps.

By setting to no notebook while you can filter notes / highlights in the  notes tool via resource as Graham said when it comes to what is displayed in your  bible you will get everything all of the time or nothing.
