Anyone know what the deal w/ this is? It is free (for me at least) but it doesn't list what is included. I've heard some say it comes w/ a forced Faithlife TV subscription that you have to cancel but I don't see that under my subscriptions. Also there is some ominous language of (didn't catch that when I snagged it): By purchasing this product I agree to have my personal information shared with FamilyLife, and for my shared personal information to be governed by FamilyLife's Privacy Policy and FamilyLife's Terms of use.

The Family Life website seems to have this mentioned in their show notes of a podcast (released today, Jan 8, 2020). I have not listened to it... but maybe I will now to see what is mentioned. If it's freely available, might be helpful to the parents in my church!

1. Well, they gave you fair warning. Even if you failed to scan every nook and crany of the web page.
2. When you gave your personal info to FL, hopefully they told you it was not strictly Bellingham (though all their google/FB hooks, maybe irrelevant).
3. But ... they can properly pray for you (their privacy statement). Think on the bright side!

Denise:1. Well, they gave you fair warning. Even if you failed to scan every nook and crany of the web page.
They did link it in three separate locations, top, middle, and bottom of the site page. Worth reading through. I'm not familiar with Family Life, but I am familiar with Campus Crusade for Christ (or Cru, as it is called now...)
Mattillo:Anyone know what the deal w/ this is? It is free (for me at least) but it doesn't list what is included.
Thanks for telling! Since it's free I took the chance and bought it. What downloaded to my library as new resources was the PD 151 Mobile Ed course (indicated by blue arrow below). I probably may have a Fathlife TV subscription now - shaded blue - haven't used that in the past, maybe I'll check it out
Since it is named "Logos Basic FamilyLife" edition I suspect that all the content in the golden box below is part of Logos Basic.
Running Logos 9 latest (beta) version on Win 10
I got the Logos 8 Basic: FamilyLife Edition Bundle because it said it was free. But now I'm noticing some unexpected things.
All “basic“ libraries come with “temporary” licenses. You won’t “own” them, but they are free to use.
macOS, iOS & iPadOS | Logs | Install
JT (alabama24): All “basic“ libraries come with “temporary” licenses. You won’t “own” them, but they are free to use.
The Logos 8 Basic page indeed says that "The features, datasets, and books provided in Logos 8 Basic are “access-only”, which means you have access to them, but do not own them permanently." www.logos.com/product/168880/logos-8-basic
But the FamilyLife Edition page, to which a Logos email and the FamilyLife website links *directly*, provides no such explanation: www.logos.com/familylife
Any "free" product ought to be free, and it should be made clear whether that means free to own, free to access for a defined period (e.g. a time-limited subscription), free to access until further notice, or whatever. Longstanding customers, power users and frequent contributers to the Logos fora might well know that Logos Basic only includes temporary licences but the more casual Logosian and in particular the new user, who Logos seeks to attract with the offer of a free Basic package, aren't likely to know this.
I don't mean to seem contentious or appear ungrateful. I adore Logos! Clarity of communication is always important.
I don’t disagree.
On one hand, I'm a little upset about the sharing of data as I have always trusted Logos not to share my data BUT on the other hand it is clearly stated on the page and I have no one to blame but myself. I should have understood that nothing is really free and there is always a catch. I'll just have to not blindly trust Logos in the future and make sure to read things more carefully. I read through the privacy policy of the FamilyLife links and there is a clause where you can request that your data be deleted so I'll try that but once it is out of the bag it is hard to grab all the pieces. Oh well.
I have FL connect so I already have FLTV and I don't see anything on my subscriptions page so I'm clear there I think. As Gordon said, I went back to look at the package again and the package now wants $14.99 which I believe is the faithlife tv price? Odd behavior for sure.
There's no PDP to show Resources included, and I didn't know if I'd even get anything new I hadn't already had, so I didn't try it out.
Also a bit leery of the FL TV trial, as I wouldn't want that subscription to affect my FL Connect subscription (which already includes that benefit).
If we're to give away our data, I'd hope we could specifically see what we'd receive in return.
(Was I the only person to initially think that FamilyLife was part of Faithlife, until I followed the privacy policy link to learn that it was a completely different ministry? I had never heard of FamilyLife before this. Perhaps that distinction could be clarified on the landing page?)
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!
$14 for me too and I don't have any FLTV subscription, although I have had a recent free offer subscription that has terminated. At some point I found one $8 book available that I didn't have, but it wasn't worth paying $14.99 to get an $8 book for free and FLTV doesn't work where I live (overseas).

That and I don’t see a detailed list of what’s included or getting since I own a lot.
DAL
I ordered it, then saw this thread, then called and had them take it off my account before I opened up logos and downloaded anything.
Hey Christopher did they say that your information was not sent to familylife?
I have talked to them today seeking the same and I am now waiting on a supervisor to call. (because according to him "everyone" is at a meeting).
I guess buying at logos is buyer beware from now on!!!
Hi this said it cost me nothing. I just wanted those free books and there's no indication anywhere i have a recurring subscription. faithlife tv will run out but i think I keep the books. It does not show and subscriptions. please respond faithlife.

Does temporary = permanent access but not ownership? Honestly that works for me.
