Oh, that "form" column!

Some of these things I don't get since I'm not yet as advanced with the software as I'd like to be and won't get a chance to study it until October or so. But, I can see how I can make use of this now.

I like that list. The graphs are pretty, but with this I can scroll down and see a lot of information at once.

Gimme.

Now. Big Smile

I just hope I can close Logos 4 without it locking up where I have to force quit as I've had to do each time I've used Alpha 22.1.

Passage analysis is a great tool, this video covers it fairly well  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvfKX0V--O4&feature=PlayList&p=C96E7B58BCC957C7&playnext_from=PL&playnext=1&index=4

Any chance that there will be continued progress in the notes feature?

Wow! How cool is that? Graphically interesting and a new way to consider words in a passage! Excellent!

David - thanks for the video.  that helps a lot.

Although i know all of us would much rather have the Mac full release a year ago... one of the nice things is that we do get to check out all kinds of features and resources that some of us probably never would have known existed.  Nice to know all the options & resources we have available to us.

Very nice!

Question - can we copy that entire graphic and put it into a keynote or pages document?

also - it seems u can click on a word in that graphic and it shows results for it below.  correct?

Re: Interesting Words Guide Section

Someone needs to help me with this one.  Maybe it is too right brained for this aging left brained evangelist.  What is the value of the graphic? Is the word size significant? Does the big "woman" and "knows" imply they are more significant in the passage?  What is the significance of the colors?

Looks nice, but I think I would rather they put the effort into finishing up the Notes feature.  I am getting close to being able to forget about parallels/ windows.

Keep up the good work, Logos.

I'm not sure if it will be in this release, but in the Windows version you can copy, send to, save, or print (as soon as printing is implemented). So you should see that functionality very soon. Perhaps not printing as soon.

And yes, you can click on a word, but the list is a topical list that lets you open various Bible dictionaries.

The graphic is just a visual way of showing you what words are in the said passage - size is supposed to denote the significance of the word - the larger the word, the more significant it is in that passage. I'm not sure if colour denotes anything? IMO It should only be used as a brainstorming tool really though.

That functionality didn't make it into Alpha 23, but it will be in the release after that.

Color (or colour, if you prefer) is randomly chosen from an aesthetically pleasing palette. It has no intended significance. Running the guide multiple times will give you similar graphs with different colors assigned to words, but the words will be the same sizes in different positions.

In my humble opinion, it would be more helpful to just list the words in a table along with the respective frequency and rank them by frequency.  Having to sort through the maze to find a word does not seem that efficient to me. But again, I am giving a left brained old fashioned opinion.

Does anyone know how the significance of a word in the passage is determined?

I would be happy enough if A23 didn't have "Open ESV" above my toolbar quicklinks Smile
