Why does this search fail? Dave? Fr. Roza? Anyone?

What is wrong with {Label Sermon WHERE Liturgical  Date ~ <LiturgicalDate Ord Time 2 Sun A>}. I got the format for the liturgical date from the navigation box of the lectionary. and yes, there should be results.

I have no idea why your search fails. The following search does return at least one result:

{Label Sermon} {Milestone <CatholicCalendar = Ord Time 2 Sun A>}

Thank you. That is a big help

Prolly no help, but there are two spaces between "Liturgical  Date".

I don't think that LiturgicalDate is a valid datatype alias. Are you looking for this search instead?

{Label Sermon WHERE Liturgical Date ~ <CatholicCalendar Ord Time 2 Sun A>}

Rather than using the navigation box, you'll have better luck if you right click on the text, select the milestone on the left, then choose the Copy Reference (Search) button on the right.

Logos Help:
Sermon

Labels a single sermon in a collection of sermons. A search for this label populates the "Sermons" guide section.

• Creator ~ "..." — Creator is the normalized name of the person who developed and delivered the sermon.
• Title ~ "..." — Title is name given to the sermon by its creator.
• Subtitle ~ "..." — Subtitle is the ancillary title information given by its creator.
• Series ~ "..." — The series in which the sermon was originally preached, if any.
• References ~ <Bible ...> — Bible references for the sermon as a whole.
• Date ~ <Date ...> — Is when the sermon was first delivered.
• Liturgical Date ~ <LiturgicalDate ...> — Is typically the liturgical date when the sermon was first delivered.

Logos Help (Bellingham, WA: Faithlife, 2018).

Thanks Andrew. That makes perfect sense. I'm not sure the Help documentation does.

From the Missal this is not reliable. From the Lectionary it should work.

Thanks. I've reported this so we can update the documentation.

I didn't want to start a new post and thought this may be a good thread in which to ask this question.

I'm doing a study of the Temple Cleansing in John 2:13-25.  I opened a Passage Guide and was hoping to find a Journal article.  Search showed no results.  However, I own the Letter & Spirit journals in my Library.

One volume in particular is "Letter & Spirit: A Journal of Catholic Biblical Theology, Volume 4 • 2008".  Letter & Spirit: Temple and Contemplation: God’s Presence in the Cosmos, Church, and Human Heart

There's an article in there that is directly on point that I was able to find using Google on the web.  Yet my Passage Guide search did not find it.   Am I using the search function incorrectly?

Please start new threads rather than changing the topic of another thread, especially one that has reached a satisfactory conclusion, if you want your question to be noticed and answered. The easiest way to see why a particular journal article is or is not picked up by a search, with the Letter & Spirit volume opened to the article in question, open the Information panel from Tools. Under Other References you can see the indexing to see why your search failed to match.

My apologies.  I've been on discussion boards where new threads were to be minimized.  I shouldn't have assumed the same here.

I did start a new thread with this question so that I can continue finding a solution: Passage Guide did not find a resource in the Library

I gave you the same answer in the new thread. But yes, in these forums the emphasis is on not using a single thread for multiple purposes.
