I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good beginner resource for learning to understand Biblical Hebrew? I am not a seminary student, just interested in learning and understanding my Bible better. I saw a class on Logos that was about $40. Anyone tried it?

My favourite book is Hebrew for Reading Comprehension by Griffin. It assumes you already know the alphabet but that's all. It's available in Logos and it is not expensive.

In order to learn the alphabet, I like 'teach yourself to read hebrew' by Ethelyn Simon. Unfortunately, it is not available in Logos.

I’d also recommend an approach focused on reading comprehension.

Learning Biblical Hebrew: Reading for Comprehension from Lexham Press is another good choice. It has a corresponding workbook, and a website of helpful supplemental material.

Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!
