I am wondering if there is a book in logos or another resource that discusses biblical scholars. I am looking for something so that when I see a book by a particular author in Logos that I can go to and see what their theological views might be and some background about them. What do they do well? What do the not do well? Denominational leaning? Etc. Is anyone familiar with something like this?
Gosh what an interesting question... I'd love this! I cannot think of anything off the top of my head but these commentary surveys will give you some of what they are looking for. Though I haven't tried it, I'd think you could search for a name and see what they've written though granted you are having one scholar critique another.

There is also a faithlife group out there where you can download a set of rules where it applies a label to an author but the series is several years old now and it can slow down your computer. I'll see if I can find that for you

You could search Wikipedia for them from within Logos, though this would only work for those whose have Wikipedia pages and common names can easily yield false positives.
I haven't seen the Handbook of Women Biblical Interpreters, but the recommendations on the product page are glowing. (What a surprise)

I have discovered that good scholarship isn’t limited to one's preference for a given theological perspective. Scholarship is a level field. I have lots of really good commentaries by Jewish and Catholic scholars even though I know I am not going to arrive at the same conclusions. It is mostly where specific theological perspectives need clarification does a given viewpoint matter. More of that usually comes from theology books than from commentaries.
