I have collected tons of books and I think three versions of Logos, up to version 8. Can I give this all away to someone here?
I have spent aTotal:$3,338.08 on this package.
It is possible to give away. The easiest way is for that person to pay a $20 transfer fee. Usually Logos frowns on selling your software on their forums, but I don't know how they feel about giving it away.
I would welcome your library. As a retired person my budget for Logos is not as large as I would like. I will gladly pay the Logos transfer fee. Let me know how to take this conversation
off line should you wish more information about me. John
You can. Typically FL charges $20 per transaction for transfers. If you were gifting or selling your entire library (which you are not allowed to do on here), it would be $20.
If you don't have someone in mind, might I suggest you contact the seminary of your choice? I am sure it would be a blessing to a young seminarian.
I am hoping to find a person that does not own Logos or has the bare minimum. I will gladly pay the fee for transfer.
That’s very generous of you! Whatever your reasons are, I hope all is well with you! I don’t need a library so hopefully someone that needs it can get it
👍😁👌

No everything is not well with me. That's part of the reason to give it away. The other part is that I prefer paper bibles and I have a lot of them. [:)]

Glad to hear that allis well. There is a Facebook group for resales, if you read through the posts there you may find a missionary or pastor who could use it......
Hi Larry, I am just starting my Logos journey as a young Bible student! If you have someone in mind to give your library to then great. But if you havent found someone then I would be very grateful to receive it. Thanks! Delvin

Glad to hear that allis well.
I think it might be the opposite?
Back when I first received my Logosian visa and magic Biblical decoder ring, I planned to give away to another crazy lady (if there was one), as I got old(er). Unfortunately, Logos keeps offering interesting books. It's frightening.
magic Biblical decoder ring
Ahhhh, this!
magic Biblical decoder ring Ahhhh, this!
Or maybe the Bible Sense Lexicon...
That would be quite a gift to a poor student or pastor 👍
Personally I can’t imagine having to do without my Verbum library. Prayers you find the person who needs it the most (I figure with the size of my own library, that person is NOT me 😉)
And Larry, prayers for you, too, because I read that "all is NOT well" with you. May our Lord keep you!
Thank you all for your kindness! I did not go into detail, I would not know where to end. My story is a very long one that would make a great book, that is if the ending is good. However, that could be very soon, yes. Short story... I'm the product of an unsuccessful operation and am now confined to live on top of a bed now for three years. Broke my neck in 1984, got healed, then in 2004 everything went backwards.
I've tried using Logos for years and I just don't seem to gel with it well.
Thanks to all! Jesus is Lord!!!
Well, Larry, Bibles are a great back-stop. And maybe another positive reversal?
Maybe not (ha). My library is oriented more to what I guess are called 'searchers' ... almost no churchy doctrine/theology ... almost all 'as old as possible'.
But I sometimes wonder if modern-day students (young and old) really recognize the immenseness of what Logos offers (not just the software features, but 'the books'). I remember Bible college and what amounted to chicken-scratching (grandmother's depression era chickens) from class assignments from the library, and the basics (greek, Thayers, etc). Now-days, I can feel guilty I didn't review St Ephraim's quotes from the gospels.
At Judgement Day, there IS a risk, "well, you DID have Logos, right?'. Ha.
Oh Larry, I am so grieved to read about your ordeal. As someone who knows prolonged and really difficult trials all too well and know of others who are having it even worse, I can only say, hang in there.
It is so difficult to understand how the Lord's sovereignty relates to what we go through individually and it is debilitating for sufferings to go on so acutely or for so long. We have found comfort in our Bible study group meditating on the voice given to this in the psalms of lament (how long? why? why have you forsaken me? I'm at the end of my rope, help and save before it is too late). It does not alleviate physical suffering but there is comfort in knowing the Lord knows how prolonged pain, agony, and despair feel, and instructs us to turn to Him with these questions and prayers. The LORD is good and His loving-kindness endures forever.
May the Lord bless you and give you all the grace you need from day to day to walk through this long and dark valley. Be assured of this: you are not walking it on your own.
That's pretty funny! Maybe I should keep at least a bare bones copy of Logos for the Judgement Day? [+o(]

As long as you ensure you keep the right denominational package to secure entrance [:P]

Said very well, thank you. Pain is the enemies best distraction when it goes on and on, never stopping. The doctors put me on Fentanyl patches for two years and it dissolved a lot of my bottom teeth and ruined my heart. I go into massive afib's a lot now. Sometimes several times a day. My heart rate can also be in the 150's for days.
I've read about the Azusa Street revival of 1906 a lot. It was prophesied by William Seymour that another would occur about 100 years after that one, bigger and not confined to a warehouse. Now I'm seeing people seeing in the spirit a tidal wave coming towards our planet of God's Glory. I am dreaming big. The enemy has been given a chance for a short while, but a revival is coming I believe. Things are very weird now, but is perfect for what Revelation tells of the future. I hope I live to see God's Glory hit and hit strong. [st]

+1 [Y] Praying (while humanly not like nor understand, Thanking God plus dreaming/praying for God's outpouring too). Thankful to read about baptisms on the streets in Minneapolis [:D]
One option is giving away your current Library set of resources and features. Bare Bones copy option is Logos 8 Basic with many Free Books. Thankful for my demonstration account having an order total of $ 0.00 that includes Logos 8 Fundamentals (free gift of Logos 7 Fundamentals from a Logos 8 Upgrade plus coupon to "purchase" special upgrade). Thankful for couple coupons that were used to "purchase" Bibles. Suggest discussing give away with Faithlife Customer Service.
Keep Smiling [:)]
Very sorry to hear about your condition. We are quite tough and so fragile at the same time. I was in a traffic accident last year (rear ended), and the constant pain was so bad I very nearly started screaming. The only relief came when I pointed my elbow directly over my head with my hand behind my head. Believe me, I tried every possible position to find that one. Thankfully, it eventually subsided, and I'm now pain-free.
I know a young lady who might be very appreciative and thankful to receive a Logos library. She recently told me she was beginning to take a more serious and committed approach to the Bible and was doing studies with a group of friends. If you haven't made a decision yet, I would be happy to cover the transfer expense. I pray you can receive the healing you need, either complete or at least sufficient to lead a productive life.
Larry, my heart broke for you as I read your story in this thread. I applaud you for your generosity to try to help someone less fortunate. May the Lord give you the grace you need in the days ahead.
A difficult story. May the Lord strengthen you.
A few days ago I entered the world of Logos, I have barely managed to buy the most basic (fundamentals), because in my country (third world) the conditions are not very favorable economically. If you still can't find someone to give your books to, it would be helpful to receive them for the use of preaching and teaching. I don't understand how books are given or received but if possible it would be helpful.

I pray you recover your health. God can use any situation for His Glory and our blessing. His Love is the power that overcomes every circumstance. The accuser is always looking for ways to disconnect us from the blessings of God. Your motives are noble, but consider well your options, be wise.
To God be the Glory,
Beloved
Be strong and of good courage brother. Dont throw out the baby with the bathwater to coin an old phrase either. Logos 9 is coming and I think it may offer some new functionality for those of us wanting simplicity and ease of use.
I use Wordsearch to do some simple reading and buy much cheaper books/commentaries but Logos is my desired Go to resource for Bible study.
God bless you as you recover and we all head to Jesus in the midst of these trying virus times. Glad you have your bibles and the real hope of revival in mind. I was encouraged reading that and I sense your struggle to heal and also use Logos is real.
Bless you and your family, loved ones and medical people too.
May Jesus come along side you and heal you real good and give you the desires of HIS heart for you.
Our Lord knows what you are facing. When I was at my lowest point and even despaired of my pain (and could not feel or see recovery) someone sent this to me and I send it to you now. It literally saved my life...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i867dGtkIFo.
p.s.
Larry I had two back surgeries within 2 weeks this past year and I am thankful to NOT be bedridden. I worry about a fall or further debilitation or if anyone will hire an assistant pastor wannabee at 58 who gives new meaning to the word "latebloomer". I cheer myself with knowing our Lord faced far worse in this life and folks like Daniel and Moses didnt get reach their best years until much later in life.
I am sorry you are struggling...and I know firsthand (somewhat) what you are enduring.
being able to right oneself in bed or even get out of bed without pain is a challenge, let alone trying to make Logos work efficiently, quickly and as expected/hoped for.
I think its great you would consider offering your Logos to someone. Glad that logos makes it possible and you have received support in here.
Kenson I hope you get the original posts Logos. God bless you as you seek to learn and share.
I'm reading all,but I am going through tougher times and can barely hold my head up
I'm very sorry to not reply sooner.
Larry, I'm sure many of us who don't post very often, are continuing to pray for you, even though we don't show up on your increasingly difficult to use screen.
Larry I went back and edited my post for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i867dGtkIFo Listen to this and look for Piper's writings in Logos.

May others direct you and may The Holy Spirit keep interceding for you and make it evident to you. I reach you in Christ and hope you are able to be blessed as I was by Piper's selection set to music.
May the video bless us all even as we pray come Lord Jesus especially for Larry Parker. ABBA FATHER. We pray this in Jesus name. Amen
For me Larry the video and presentation was a lightning bolt that saved my life that night. May it encourage and strengthen you brother.

I think the Apostle Paul would be pleased by the combination of word and song...and that his letter to the Romans is widely available in Logos. Piper's inflection and emphasis are breathtaking. Beloved Amodeo, Sir, it was my pleasure. How I pray Larry gets to hear it and will weep tears of joy as I did - despite the pain. God make it so...in Jesus name...and may Logos miraculously become all Larry hopes and wants it to be in each passing minute or day. In Jesus name...amen.

[:P]I am not a crook...I mean a Calvinist.
I confess I do appreciate Piper lately more and more these days. Must be a sign of my advancing years. If its not painful, I hope you chuckle, Mr. Parker (Larry).
Not sure if you’ve given it away or not yet but I started pastoring a church this year and only own the free version of Logos. I’d love to have something like this! 😊. I’m at pastorrob@heartofworshipchurch.net.
Dear Rob
Some suggest spacing out email segments or typing in "at" for the @ and "dot net" etc
Apparently there are bots out there that can harvest emails from these forums?
Happy New Year [:)]
