David Brock:
I'm a traditional outline organizer and that isn't even possible to do if you use the headings.

Me too! My sermons tend to have 6 heading levels but the formatting in Sermon Builder doesn't allow for indented outlines in the main body of the sermon and the formatting options are extremely limited and/or time consuming to try and format.

I also find when I copy and paste from Word into the Sermon builder and try to use the preach mode, that although Sermon Builder recognizes my headings, preach mode capitalizes them all making them hard to read. If I was one of those fire and brimstone shouting preachers Super Angry, I might prefer my sermons all capitalized.

I would like it if there was better compatibility between Word and the SB, especially if the SB could pick up text formatting.

I'm very close to do all the same steps.

But with a few more for the slides as I'm joining in PowerPoint the slides I'm taking from logos (maps, verses, ...) and the other where PowerPoint is better to do things (colors, animations, ...)

Hope that the goal of Logos is to study Bible and not to force people to use cloud ...

I'm working in a company who is fighting the hack and I take care to save everything locally...

Resurrecting an old thread in hopes of getting some suggestions...

You copy/paste your Word document into Sermon Builder. Is there a way to keep the headers as headers, normal text as normal text, outlined sections as outlines? Every time I copy/paste into SB, I end up having to reformat the document to make things line up like they are in Word. I don't usually do anything complicated, but would like to avoid all the extra work of adding the indents and so forth, if possible.

Any suggestions? Maybe a video I should watch to learn more?

Thanks!

Kurt

Kurt

I have not revisited the Sermon Builder site since the beginning of this thread. I work under the assumption that the desired changes I wish to see have not been implemented and so I have no interest in using Sermon Builder.  I make personal books which work great for me.

If Sermon Builder has changed since this thread, I do not know anything about it.

Mark,

Thanks for the reply. It doesn't even hold my headings at this point, so I'd say if it has changed, it hasn't been in a positive direction, unless I'm doing something wrong.

I guess I'll try out the personal books approach.

when I copy/paste from WORD, my main points come across as Heading 1 and my Subpoints come across as Heading 2. My bulleted and numberered rows import as normal text. I do have to indicate "prompt", "illustration" and "blockquote" after pasting into Sermon Builder.

Hmm, interesting, I must have been using something other than Header 1 and Header 2 styles when I created my document originally. Just created one from scratch and it did hold the header styles at least when I brought it over. That's better than nothing, just need to learn to create my document in a different way I guess.

Thanks for the illustration, David!
