How can I get a *blank* Factbook tab to drag up to my shortcut bar?
Every time I open Factbook, it opens up to whatever I had searched for in it last. There does not appear to be a way to clear this text to go back to the default state, like you can do with the Search tab (to see the search helps). If I delete what was there in the Topic/Reference box, the results still remain below and clicking on the Go arrow does nothing.
The reason I want to be able to do this is to have a generic Factbook icon on my shortcut bar. I don't want the day that I searched for my own name in Factbook to be memorialized forever every time I bring up Factbook from the shortcut bar in the future.

seems no Way even if I delete what stands in "Verlauf" it don't open empty...well you could deinstall Logos every Time you use Factbook...but that's not realy a way ;-) I closed every Thing in Factbook so, at least, it dont't take 5 Hours to search until it realise tat I like to want a new search.

Hmm, it appears that whenever I open Factbook from the shortcut bar, it opens it with the most recent topic, not whatever it had open when I dragged the icon up there. So I guess my quest for a blank Factbook page to drag up there is a pointless one.

Hi Rosie,
It is my understanding from what I have read on the forums that Logos is actually going to add an button for Factbook on the menu bar beside the library button. I believe I saw it was going to be in L9.1

Yes - it is working in the current L9.1 beta

But it still does not bring up a blank one, but the last opened. (Win10)

Yes, that is standard Factbook behavior.
To get a blank entry you could try:
- Open a brand new FL account under a new email
- Buy a brand new computer
- Buy a new Logos package.
- Open Factbook ... this is probably your only shot at the blank input so sit and stare at it until it is burnt into your visual memory
- Be prepared for this beautiful blank entry to open to the last viewed entry based on any syncing or use of Factbook
- You have now learned why I prefer to always have all sections of Factbook closed before I exit the program ... I hate watching it populate an entry I have no current interest in.

I don't mind it populating, I mostly use one layout and leave it open.
I was just pointing it our for Rosie, however I am now intrigued as to what a blank Factbook would look like, so will be back with a screenshot if possible.

Cool, it is not blank, if no previous entry it populates 'Jesus'.

Think about it a bit ... a Factbook page has a variable layout depending upon the entry type ... one can even obtain pages without a heading. Without an entry type a black Factbook page would simply be
at least theoretically ..

This request is actually on our list of things we are interested in implementing. For now though, as indicated, there is no uninitialized state. I don't have a timeline for when we will get to this.

Oh good! I would much prefer that the Factbook open blank than open to the last entry.

Given that it doesn't do this currently it would be nice, if when opening the factbook, the focus was set to the search box so one can type immediately without having to use another mouse click (particularly now that there is a keyboard shortcut in the latest beta).

That would be very nice too.

Thanks for mentioning this. It's a bug that the default focus is not in the navigation box. I've created a case to fix this.

This has been fixed in 9.2.
