Today's daily deal volume has a puzzling product description on the web site, and in the actual resource itself. The sentence "The focus of the writing is spirituality, depicting the different perspectives on the texts from N. T. Wright and his biblical criticism slant" doesn't seem to have anything to do with the surrounding context or the resource itself.  I searched the resource to double check, and I don't get a single hit on "Wright."

Is this perhaps a database crossed wire, or a "scribal error" or am I missing something?

Another oddity is that the "Praise for the Print Edition" section contains a quote from the author herself, rather than any endorsements from others.

For some reason I cannot get the "choose file" button to work right now so I can't share the screen shot.  Here's is actual text from the product page:

Overview

Lectionary Reflections: Year C features meditations on the Common Worship readings in the Revised Common Lectionary for Year C. Compiled from Jane Williams' much enjoyed Church Times columns, they include Sundays together with the Feasts of Christmas and the Epiphany. Each section gives the lectionary references and provides a thought-provoking starting point for exploring the readings, drawing out points of connection between them. The focus of the writing is spirituality, depicting the different perspectives on the texts from N. T. Wright and his biblical criticism slant.

Intelligently written in an engaging and inspiring style, Lectionary Reflections will prove invaluable in preparation for Sunday worship or for regular Bible study throughout the year. It will be of use both to individuals and groups for opening up the bible and applying its rich teaching and stories.

Praise for the Print Edition

If God really is loving and teasing and forgiving, like he is in the stories Jesus tells, then we all have a chance.

—Jane Williams

I agree. It will probably help Jane's sales though. Smile

Good point, JT!  A little accidental marketing boost. Wink

The offending sentence appears to me to be an accidental (Faithlife) insertion into the standard marketing text. See https://bookshop.org/books/lectionary-reflections-years-a-b-and-c/9780281065790

Faithlife: the product description still contains the corrupted text, as of January 1, 2021
