Verbum 9.2 Beta 2 (9.2.0.0005) repeatably crashes when opening the resource "Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia: WIVU Constituency Trees", e.g. by using the command open wivucgraphs or double-clicking from the library or opening a link to it (from history).

The crash appears in German or English UI. Hiding, restart & unhiding, restart does not remediate the crash - it seems a change in the beta could be the root cause.

Note that Logos 9.1 stable (9.1.0018) has no issues, tested for both UIs, the resource info is identical for both installations.

Exemplary Logs: 4276.Verbum.zip - I can provide more, if needed.

It opens fine in Logos 9.2 beta 2 (same version). Works in Verbum 9.1 and also after updating to Verbum 9.2 beta 2.All in Windows.

You might try removing the resource and then Download it. Use the command reindex wivu-constituency-trees if it does not index.

Thanks, Dave, for looking into this!

I did this, with a PC restart thrown in for good measure before the download - even though I think hiding/unhiding would do the same (but it seems the reindex command does not trigger a reindex on the resource), but it crashes Verbum 9.2 Beta 2 nonetheless.

The error is always the same:

Error ID: 6068
Error detail: MethodBehaviorConverterException: Exception executing LDLS4.Pods.CommandPod.UserCommandViewModel.ExecuteParseResult

Libronix.Utility.Windows.Converters.MethodBehaviorConverter+MethodBehaviorConverterException: Exception executing LDLS4.Pods.CommandPod.UserCommandViewModel.ExecuteParseResult ---> System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.InvalidOperationException: This Freezable cannot be frozen.

It's a Clause Vizualization resource, which I just realised doesn't need to be indexed!

The crash trace is mostly at the System level, but the crash is triggered when Logos tries to call Freeze(). A similar issue with "This Freezable cannot be frozen" produced the response: "Well, you cannot call the Freeze() method of an IFreezable whose CanFreeze property returns false without getting an InvalidOperationException. The documentation is pretty clear on this: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms750509(v=vs.100).aspx."

Over to Faithlife.

Hi NB.Mick,

I'm not able to reproduce this crash. I'll ask the team to take a look.

Hi NB.Mick,

So this is caused because of a bug when the Resource Panel Background is set to Windows Default. If you change the setting it should stop crashing. I'll write up a bug report.

Yes, I can confirm that! Thanks.

Just to add additional data: this bug crashes Verbum 9.2 Beta 3 as well, and when using another clause visualization resource, as per MJ.Smith in this thread (with logs): https://community.logos.com/forums/t/197932.aspx and confirmed by me.

Yes, this did fix the crash yet on 1/29/21.  Still not working on "windows default"

Note: all clause visualization resources have been updated (downloaded yesterday) to accommodate dark mode, but the bug still is active in stable and latest beta Logos/Verbum 9.3 Beta 2

We have not fixed the issue with being on Windows Default yet.

This is fixed in L9.5 Beta 1 (and, so it seems, not only for wivugraphs but also or Open Text and the other clause visualization resources)

This has been fixed in 9.5.
