Has anyone heard an update on some of the new volumes for the Lexham Research Commentary set? The last I heard was they were planning to have Daniel and Ruth out before the end of 2020, but it looks like that has been delayed.
Jon, let's blame 2020. But seriously, my project plans did not pan out like planned last year. I'm not sure anyone's 2020 went as planned though. I have begun editorial on Daniel and Ruth and will have them ready as soon as possible. They aren't my only projects to finish this spring (Geographic Commentary is also on my plate), so I don't want to commit to a date and disappoint but I'm hoping they'll be ready by the end of the first half of 2021.
As far as the series goes, Luke should be ready for editorial later this spring, and 2 Peter is due this summer. After 2 Peter, the author is doing Jude. Matthew is being written, and I'm looking for authors to continue the series.
Let's hear it for job security. Thanks Doug. It is so easy for us to take all of FL for granted. I sure don't anymore. Every time I use Logos, I am reminded of all the faithful labor that enables all these resources to be at my fingertips.

Got it, thanks for the update!
Latest update on this series—I have authors lined up for the rest of the New Testament volumes. Luke and 2 Peter have been submitted and are in my editorial queue. Both look like substantial contributions to the series that I think everyone will be happy with. Daniel and Ruth are ahead of them in the queue though. Plans are to turn to this series once I get some things wrapped up related to the Geographic Commentary and the Context Commentary projects.

Any chance we’ll see any of these (Daniel, Ruth, etc) before the end of the year?
Jon: Any chance we’ll see any of these (Daniel, Ruth, etc) before the end of the year?
I'd like to say yes, there's a chance, but it's unlikely either Daniel or Ruth will ship to customers by the end of the year. It's possible Ruth will be close as I hope to give it my full attention later this month. But after my first edit, its progress will depend on others in editorial and digital resource production having time to do their part. I don't think there's enough time for everything to happen by end of the year, though, even if I finished my work today. (There's copy editing, resource tagging, pre-pub notification period, etc., to account for.) I should soon be able to give this series more attention for a while to get caught up on the ones that have been submitted but not edited yet. So you can expect some of these to be released in the first half of next year.

You're a busy guy! Thank you
FYI, eight new volumes in the Lexham Research Commentaries have been posted for pre-order. These volumes have all been contracted and are currently in the writing process. We won't have an estimated release date until a manuscript is turned in. A portion of a ninth volume — Revelation — has also been contracted but we'll hold off on posting that one for pre-order until the author commits to the entire book.
With Revelation pending, these new volumes will offer complete coverage of the New Testament. Finding authors to complete the Old Testament is our next priority.

Also, 2 Peter and Acts have recently been submitted and are awaiting editorial. Of the ones that are submitted, I will probably tackle them in this order Ruth, Daniel, Luke, 2 Peter, and Acts (more or less the order they were submitted).
I’ve preordered all of them and own all the ones that are available. Awesome series 👍😁👌

are pre-order prices better than just waiting for the actual release?

Yes. For some reason the last two posted above with logos.com links, 2 Peter and Jude, don't show the discount, but the volumes in the post above with lexhampress.com links do. The discount for Pre-publication/pre-orders is around 30%, give or take 3%.
