I am thinking of moving Logos 8 to my external HDD to free up space on the internal. I am running a MacBook Air 2.2 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7 8GB memory and I'm using a Lacie external HDD 2 TB . Does anyone have any feedback on how this may work?

I'd never again want to run Logos from a non-SSD drive, so my advice would be for you to make sure this is so - if your system currently has an internal SSD, keep Logos there and move other stuff, or get a bigger internal SSD. If this is not possible, run it from an external SSD (which is officially unsupported, but I hear it works fine on Mac and know it does work fine on Windows), don't go for a spinning external HDD. If your Lacie is a SSD, go for it.

I agree with everything Mick said. I don’t have all the macs memorized. What operating system are you running? Is it capable of running logos 9? If so, make sure to get the free engine

Supported alternate for reducing Logos internal space usage on MacBook Air is removing Library resources from device. Thankful for Library having Device facet that shows what is downloaded (This device) and what is not on this device. Selecting resource(s) allows "Downloaded" to be clicked so can click "Remove from device" to reduce storage usage plus change section for search results from "Library (Downloaded)" to "Library (Cloud)"
FYI: for faster performance of refreshing collection cache with many commentary rule definitions, removed some commentary resources from my demonstration account. Already had program settings for Download New Resources set to No, which allows purchase of Free Books to increase "Library (Cloud)"
Older Logos (prior to 8.4) required all resources to be downloaded so used Logos Wiki => Install in different folder or drive to relocate Resources folder to an external USB on a MacBook Air (MBA), which provided opportunity for USB disassembly disaster when MBA quickly exited car as well as surprising USB drive disconnects (appeared as drive unexpectedly ejected even though it was still in MBA).
Keep Smiling
