Factbook missing resources?

Hi all!
I am kinda new to Logos, having only just purchased Logos 9.
I am fiddling around with things, and I used Factbook to search for "Israel and the Church". A topic was found, so I hit the result to see the resources. I was expecting one of the book I own to show under "Books from Your library", but it didn't. The book is "Israelology" by Fruchtenbaum.
If I use the general search with the same keywords "Israel and the Church", the book does show in the "From your library" section.
Any suggestion?
Thanks all in advance.
Blessings.

What you are describing is expected behaviour.
The Books from your library section only returns results if the resource has been specifically tagged as primarily about the topic. And they do need to have been tagged by Faithlife.
Andrew outlines this at https://community.logos.com/forums/p/195909/1133003.aspx#1133003
Hope this helps explain what you are seeing, Graham

Thanks Graham.

Ha, I did think about the possibility that a resource must be tagged with that topic, but I was hoping we could tag resources ourselves, too?
Guess it's not the case.
Anyway, thanks again!

Not exactly the same thing, but here goes. When I search Factbook for "1 Timothy" or "2 Timothy," I'd expect to see a "Book - Letter - Named Text" entry in the dropdown menu. But I do not. I have to type "First Timothy" or "Second Timothy." Not ideal. Also, the Dictionaries sections for those two items do not include standard resources such as AYBD, NIDB, ISBE, or the Dictionary of Paul and His Letters. Why not? It's hard to rely on Factbook when it is so incomplete.

I'm not quite certainly what is happening there. It should be working. I'll write up a bug report for this.

The technical reason for this is that those those resources don't have an article for 1 Timothy or 2 Timothy. Instead, they contain an article for the "pastoral epistles", so a link can be found in the Dictionaries section of the Factbook page for "Pastoral Epistles" https://ref.ly/logos4/Factbook?ref=bk.%25PastoralEpistles_Writing A link to this page can be found in the See Also section of the Factbook page for First Letter to Timothy.
That said, I can understand the frustration in not seeing those articles where you are expecting, and I'll pass along this feedback.

Thanks, Andrew. I appreciate it.

Something similar happens with 1 Samuel and 2 Samuel. When I type in "First Samuel," I'm fine. But then, when I choose the Book - History - Named Text, I see an odd choice for the main entry: "Hannah Eats with Elkanah" from All the Meals in the Bible. Huh? And no results at all for Dictionaries.

I've reported the problem with the Meals in the Bible.
The reason for the lack of Dictionary entries is the same basic problem as above. All of the Dictionaries have articles that combine 1st and 2nd Samuel, so you'll find them all under "Books of First and Second Samuel". https://ref.ly/logos4/Factbook?ref=bk.%25BookOf12Samuel_Writing

Six months later, the Meals problem is still not fixed.

Unfortunately, it doesn't surprise me anymore. "Forget it, Jake. It's Faithlife."

What you're seeing for Meals is by design (given the problem that there's no Lexham Bible Dictionary article for 1 Samuel). All Factbook pages for Bible books also show articles from the All the X in the Bible series, and the first linked article is expanded (that should be a description of the book for 1 Samuel, but there isn't one). Here's a clearer example for Genesis (which does have an article for the book):
We'll try to figure out a better solution for 1/2 Sam/Kings, which only have combined articles in LBD.

How much more time do you need? Another six months, a year?

Treat them as Topic Guide handles Writings and uses one of my tagged resources.

I ask this question out of pure ignorance. I only say this as I don't want it to come across as mockery but what is the point of these datasets "Meals/Killing/Miracles/Etc in the Bible?" I don't understand how these are useful or what someone would do with them. When they show and I look at them, all I get is a verse and brief statement about it. What would someone do with these datasets or what is an example of a good use of using them? I just don't see me doing a class and mentioning oh by the way so-and-so had another meal later on in the bible. Again I don't mean for this to come across as negative but I truly don't understand the point of these datasets.
Thank you

As treated in Passage Guide, the commentaries appear under the uninspiring title of "Faithlife Biblical and Theological Lists". They don't have metadata Subjects that are consistent with Bible Commentaries i.e. their coverage of books is not stated. Different volumes include the same book, so the Series name 'breaks' the rule for a proper commentary series e.g. a PG on 2 Kings 3 will have 4 entries for the same series. They have no Type for use in a PG, so they appear under "---", and they appear at the very bottom of the Priority heading as I don't prioritize them. I tag them as "Notes", but could just as easily not tag them for any of my commentary Collections.
Their application as bible commentaries breaks all the 'rules', so they probably should be treated as Bible Study, which would give them greater relevance.

No offense taken at the question. These resources serve several functions:
- They enumerate a set of biblical texts and related information for an important class of items. "How do I find all the (something) in the Bible?" has been a somewhat common question over the years, and these are mostly items that can't be easily found with a word search. They can support a topical study on marriages, altars, etc.
- In many cases they provide additional summary information about the items they describe. For example, All the Covenants in the Bible describes what was promised, and any conditions.
- We created resources for each dataset because that was the easiest way to get this content into Factbook. There's a Factbook page for each covenant from All the Covenants in the Bible, for example, like God Makes a Covenant with Abraham.
- Each of these datasets is also available as supplemental data to support searches. So you can start with a search for covenants with particular properties, like those where God is the Giver:
{Label Covenant WHERE Giver ~ <Person God>}
This produces 348 verse results, which is a lot to go through: you might narrow this search down to 6 verses by adding "AND heart" if that was your particular interest. But trying to construct such a search otherwise would be difficult or impossible.
These resources aren't traditional commentaries, and their scope is the whole Bible, not an individual book, as Dave notes: however, they have Bible milestones, so you can scroll your Bible along with them if you link panels, and they appear in the Commentaries section of the Passage Guide for that reason.

Thank you both. This makes more sense to me now. I appreciate it
