So I ran a Factbook search on the term 'Lectio Divina' as it has come up in recent sermons and church as a part of the Prayer Course we are working through in our weekly bible study to see what Factbook might point me towards for further exploration.

Disappointingly it only return two results in the dictionary section and no key article.  The article returned form the New Dictionary of Catholic Spirituality would have been a fair result to be retuned as a key article for this topic.

I ran a Basic Search on Heading Text and Large Text within recourses of type: encyclopedia. It returned an extra two hits. One of these was the Lexham Bible Dictionary.  This entry should have showed up in the Factbook report under dictionaries and probably as the Key Article but is does not.

I don't know if the Dictionary of Christian Spirituality is keyed to work with Factbook but it has a secondary entry under Spiritual reading that would not have looked out of place in the Factbook report so if it is not keyed to work with Factbook maybe it should.

That aside the major issues are why is there no key article when there were articles returned and why was the LBD article not returned at all.

So I ran a Factbook search on the term 'Lectio Divina'

I am a bit confused by the 'Factbook' functionality.

I too get only two hits from the main search, however the dropdown when expanded to "Show all on Lectio Divina provides somewhat more...

I'm not sure what you are expecting ... for "lectio divina" I would expect one exact match, some resources contain "lectio divina" in the title, maybe a link to the workflow, and a few odds and ends that the algorithm considers "close". That is what I get.

When I show the expanded list, it's still pretty much the expected set:

Err 5
IIRC there are a few other resources that should be included but they are not obvious ones so I'm not surprised given the incompleteness of the Factbook data. So what is necessary for it to meet your expectations?

I did follow up on the link to 'La Divina Commedia' but I don't think they are likely to make a TV Sitcom from it on either side of the Atlantic.

'La Divina Commedia'

Bought my first (and only) copy during the summer after my junior year of high school -- it was required reading my senior year. I still remember the small used bookstore at which I bought it with fond memories of the owner.

back on topic, I get 7 or 8 hits when I search for "lectio divina" as a headword or large texts, hundred of entries when I simply search for the phrase.

That's my biggest question.

Would the fact that it is not a headword and therefore there is no article on but only reference to lectio divina answer that question?

You are correct MJ, this would be the answer, something I overlooked in posing the question about LBD but still leaves the missing key article a question.

Factbook entry under more does have a default pre-built  "Search for"....."in Everything"  that uses the following critecia:

<Topic Lectio Divina>, {Section <Topic Lectio Divina>}, {Milestone <Topic Lectio Divina>}, {Headword Lectio Divina}, "Lectio Divina"

but I find this misses the LDB result because it a less than useful search.  I would to see as a second entry in this section of fact book a search that looks at Headwords and Large Texts in resources of Type: Encyclopedia to allow users to perform a narrower for directed search for articles on the topic of interest rather than just the option to cast a wide net over their entire library. Both searches have their place but on most occasions I find the narrower search the most useful.  The broad one is fine as a follow up to the broad search, but first I want to get a handle on the key ideas, concepts, definitions etc of a topic before looking at what everyone in my library has to say about it in a much larger range of resources.

This is a very nice idea.

The Key article is derived from it's own prioritization or from the curation process. The Dictionary section below essentially includes all encyclopedias with articles ... sometimes curated to handle the difference between encyclopedia as to what are main articles and what are sub-topics within a larger article. Not all encyclopedias are aligned yet ... "aligned" being Sean B.'s term for a process I only partially understand.

From my library:

Yes - which is why it is strange there is no key article returned for this particular topic

Agreed - and if they were all aligned, and kept aligned, then it is possible Disciple II's suggestion would be less needed. But this alignment is a long-term process. In the interim at least, the initial search suggested could be very useful

Yes. The Search result screenshot fooled me into thinking it was a headword.

Exactly Graham, and its a process that one could argue will never be finished unless FL stop publishing new encyclopedias. But alas FL will deem this a new feature so my suggestion will never see the light of day.
