Hi folks, I like to start this by saying I have read a bunch of posts here about Logos crashing when trying to use the Passage guide on certain passages (not all). After reading one post about collapsing the PG I started opening them one by one then closing them to find out if one in particular was causing this error and closing Logos. Well the culprit appears to be "Ancient texts" in my case, every time it is opened on Rev 7 for instance it closes logos with this error: Error ID: 307 Error detail: SQLiteException: constraint failed: UNIQUE constraint failed: Terms.Reference,. so the rest of the log file doesn't indicate the source of the problem. I did notice it worked before the last windows update. I put off all updates to windows 10 as long as the program permits so the update was the may 2019 big update. I know this because I was in Rev 7 last week in study and the indexing worked fine for every category in the PG. So something in this update messed up my indexing for specific passages. Like I said the rev 7 is the only one I found so far. I tried "rebuild index" and that didn't seem to work. I also don't use the ancient texts category enough to worry about so I just right clicked and deleted it. If I remember correctly I can undo that if need be at a later date. If there is a fix to this would love to know what it is.

Thank you

I attempted to replicate just now and failed... but I was using Verbum 9.5. This is the Logos/Verbum 7 forum. Are you using Logos 7? If you are, download this: https://www.logos.com/product/194909/logos-9-basic

If you are already using Logos 9, posting a new thread in the correct forum and posting your logs in it after triggering the crash is likely to be recommended by FL in order to assist with the resolution of the problem, notwithstanding the fact that you couldn't find the problem by looking at them.

Please use descriptive thread titles to attract helpful posts & not waste others' time. Thanks!

Welcome Big Smile

In theory, No. In practice, computers can misbehave. Quite possibly, upgrading to Logos 9 could fix indexing error while keeping books, ...

Logos Wiki => Logos Release History shows 7.19.0.0037 was released on 23 May 2019 and no longer supported as of 28 May 2019 (so any 7.19.0.0037 indexing errors will not be fixed by Faithlife). On 27 May 2021 was the 9.5.0.0019 release, which includes a number of fixes plus enhancements since 7.19.0.0037

Logos Wiki => Quick Installation onto multiple computers includes folder locations. An idea is making a back up copy of 7.19.0.0037 folders before installing 9.5.0.0019 after free purchase of Logos 9 Basic.

TYVM for your response, I guess if there won't be any more support all I can do is upgrade and hope I keep my books I bought for 7.

You shouldn't lose your books. If any disappear, you can re-download them from Logos, so, in theory, you should not lose anything. If you still have all the Word documents for your personal books, you can rebuild them if you lose any, so the only thing I would worry about would be your notes documents. I would make a backup copy of them to be on the safe side since the Notes database was not in Logos 7 but is now in 9.5.

Good luck!

As a general rule, when a new version comes out, make sure you update your engine once the free version comes out, and that will keep it compliant with future Windows updates.
