There appears to be a bug with highlight colors. This may be related to the changes related to the updated colors for System Highlight Styles.
I changed one of my custom highlights to a different shade of purple to see how this beta improved/changes the colors, but now I can't change it back to the shade it was when I started. Attached is a screenshot with my custom palette showing the 3 shades of purple. The shade for my filter labeled "Visual Filter" was set to the dark shade of purple prior to the Beta 1 update. The other 2 shades are those available as the darkest and second darkest purple after the update. Neither of these match my previous setting before the update. The issue is the color I had before the update is much more legible in dark mode than any of the available settings that now exist. I'm not sure how to get that shade back.
Shades of purple. The first shade is no longer available. It may seem minor when in light mode, but it's very noticeable in dark mode.
Here's what it looks like in Dark Mode. The more legible shade is the one that is no longer selectable.
Overall the highlights are working better now with this Beta 1 update. However, this bug with the purple keeps Dark Mode unusable. I'm afraid to change the other colors in chase they also become illegible.
Clearly this does not mean one can now actually see the text of the pericope headings in Compare Pericopes. What does it mean?

There are four lights
The restyling of the highlighter palette seems to have made everything a lot lighter. All my single line underline styles are now too light to be useful. I can barely make them out, and as for distinguishing between colors or the pencil underline - forget it. I hope this can be corrected. The impact is that you've made all my underlines virtually useless.
I know this is a screen clip, but it looks just as washed out on my screen.
EDIT: Some of these are FB underscores.

Restyling Highlighting palette has some opportunities for improvement.
Dark Mode screen shot on macOS Big Sur 11.4 with Verbum 9.6 SR-1 and Logos 9.7 Beta 1
Some Logos 9.7 Beta 1 highlighting background colors in search results are visibly different (darker) than Highlighting Style preview: e.g. Present - Tense, Imperfect - Tense, Future - Tense
Inserted graphics appear a bit larger in 9.7 Beta 1.
Noticed Verbum 9.6 SR-1 and Logos 9.7 Beta 1 have background color for selected style if edit, then click back (background indicator does not change back to black, even after selecting a different style).
Editing highlighting styles shows Logos 9.7 Beta 1 has 36 choices while Verbum 9.6 SR-1 had 32 choices (like additional row). Color order seems reversed (so comparing between 9.6 SR-1 and 9.7 Beta 1 was a bit intriguing).
Thankful for Bible Sense Lexicon improvement in Logos 9.7 Beta 1

Do you have multiple Visual Filters turned on? It's hard to tell what styles are being applied.

Yes for many visual filters. Background verb tense color issue could be replicated using

While using the library I did not notice this improvement. That means it works well! Thousand thanks!

Since my little part of this thread wasn't addressed, should I conclude that I'm the only one having difficulty reading Compare Pericopes in Dark Mode? It wouldn't be surprising, as I have vision issues, and it would only be a small (but annoying) fly in the ointment. If so, I'll consider it my little corner of the Fallen World and get over it.

Mark, is this a custom palette? Would you share it, please?

I'm not sure what you mean by this.

Thanks for this, KS4J. We think that some of the differences might be due to the way the different VFs are overlapping and layering. Would you share the other morph filters you are using?

Not Mark, but I'm pretty sure he meant the automatic links to FactBook which are light blue underlines (note: I personally find them annoying, so I'm glad you allow us to turn them off)

Replicated Background color issue (noticeably different than Highlighting preview in Logos 9.7 Beta 3) for verb morphology visual filters using Verbum 9.6 SR-2 and Logos 9.7 Beta 3 on macOS 11.5.1 (desktop background is black: area to left of Verbum 9.6 SR-2)
Application logs show open to blank layout, open a previous layout with NRSV that has two visual filters checked, About for application to verify versions for posting (and naming files). 0246.96SR2_97B3_NRSV_MT5_PS5_dark.zip

This has been fixed in 9.7 Beta 4.
Yeah, I was just kidding; I really didn't want to know any of this.

Hi Robert,
I'm sorry I didn't respond. I got sidetracked by all of the highlighting reports. I have written up a case.
I believe this refers to fixing the styling for the Word Tree portion of the Passage Analysis tool.
