I'm looking to brush up on my bible geography. I had an idea of creating a list of places (e.g. cities, mountains, countries) sorted by occurances either for the whole bible or particular sections (NT, OT, Pentateuch, Acts, Samuel, etc.). Any idea how ((or if) I would go about generating such?

Have you looked at the Biblical Places section of the Passage Guide? You can run it alone with a Bible reference of Gen-Rev to get the whole Bible and other references to see particular sections.

Have you looked at the Bible BrowserTool with its facets to select places?

Factbook will eventually be a possibility - its got okay coverage of the detail but the hierarchy to find them all is still very sparse.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't have the Bible Browser Tool but I tried the passage guide. Even for smaller subsections such as a single book I get a long though seemingly incomplete list of place names of which I can't discern any order.

Do you have access to the Concordance Tool?
