Just curious if anyone had any thoughts on the choose a 5th course section. I'm stuck between:
Luke by Pitts
Apocrypha by deSilva
I always thought that the "book study" stuffs such as Luke is like a regular mini/short commentary. I wouldn't buy "book study" videos as I have better commentaries. They're very very basic in terms of explanations and price-ratio wise isn't good. I'd stay away from "book study" videos.
Now the "topical" videos are a bit different.
Hello Matillo I will be choosing Luke by Pitts. My preferred method of study is to study books of the Bible. For me the advantage to Mobile Ed courses is not just the videos but the links to other resources. They also have suggestions on topics to search in the Factbook that I may have missed without the course material. I have really enjoyed the Bible book courses such as the course on Ruth by Daniel Block. I have taken courses on Bible books from other websites and Mobile Ed are far above the other courses that I have experienced. I see these courses as a starting point in my study. My Logos library provides me with a wealth of information for further study. The course will usually reference 2 or 3 commentaries. I can also dig into my favorite "go to" commentaries as I study through a course. As a result it takes a lot longer for me to progress through a Mobile Ed course than some other users might take. I like both Pitts and deSilva but at this point the focus of my studies is in the Gospels and Acts so deSilva's course on the Apocrypha doesn't interest me as much.
