When the text is set to black background, the background is now dark grey instead of black. Is this considered one of the "dark mode improvements"? Please bring back the real black background, it is best when reading in the dark. Dark grey puts out more light than is desired.

I agree with Todd. The black background should be the same as the real black that can still be seen in the omnibox.
In fact I was going to ask that the Guides be moved to true black too, since they were already dark gray previously.

Thanks. I noticed that in the most recent release (9.9.0.0016) this has not been fixed. I do hope it will be. I'm finding it harsh on my eyes when I read at night.

I actually appreciated the toned down dark theme. Could it possibly be introduced as an optional theme in the view-settings?
