Hi everyone,

I'm on Logos 9.8 on Windows 10, and whenever I switch between tabs in Logos, there's about a half-second lag between clicking the tab and it switching. It's not the end of the world, but it is noticeably laggy, and a bit annoying, and well, it seems unnecessary.

I have 3 different translations of the Bible open (no other resources) and it's still slow like this.

I should have a powerful enough computer to run Logos: 1 TB SSD, 16 GB of Ram, Intel i7-8750H.

I'm even running a Geforce GTX 1060, so graphics isn't the issue.

As far as I can recall, Logos has always been slow and clunky (user since version 4), but in the past I assumed it was because my hardware was inadequate. But with an SSD and 16GB of RAM, surely I should be able to have three Bibles open without overloading my system.

In contrast, I can have 20 Chrome tabs open, and switch between them instantly, or have multiple large Word documents open and switch between them instantly. It's just Logos that seems slow.

Is this just the way Logos is? Or are there people out there that have instant switching between resource tabs in Logos?

I expect first opening of a tab in my layout to have some lag, especially for a reverse interlinear bible. But Logos 9.7 improved the loading of visual filters so that first opening would be faster. Subsequent openings are quicker (almost instant). I have a 250 GB SSD, a slower i5-8250U and 8 GB RAM. My layout starts with 11 tabs and can grow to 20.

I don't use the separate GeForce video card with Logos, so try using just the Integrated Graphics and ensure Hardware Acceleration is enabled in Tools > Program Settings.

Mine switch instantly after the first switch to each, which has to load the content (therefore takes time).

Click on a new tab, then to another, then return to the one you previously opened. It should be pretty much instantaneous.

Thanks! It's good to know that smoother response times should be possible. I'll see if I can tweak my system or something.
