In BDB Complete the word תֵּט is found under Qal and Prov 4:5 and 4:27 is referenced there (also in Gesenius 18th edition which I have in book form). When I look at the tagging in those to verses there is a difference. In Prov 4:5 it is Yiqtol Qal Jussive and in Prov 4:27 Yiqtol Hifil Jussive. I'm still learning Hebrew, so I wanted to understand why there is a difference.

Prov.

Prov.

BDB:

BHW 4.18 has Hifil but my other Hebrew bibles have Qal (LHB, BHS, BHS/WIVU). Could be a mistake in BHW, but I'm not a Hebrew expert.

BHW 4.18 has Hifil but my other Hebrew bibles have Qal (LHB, BHS, BHS/WIVU).

AFAT (Andersen-Forbes) and BHt (Richter) also have Qal.

Nevertheless BHW is not completely alone: the NET Bible notes and the Dictionary of Classical Hebrew also analyze תֵּט in Prov. 4:27 as a Hif'il form.
