I am looking for something similar to the following two references, except aimed at study of the church fathers:
Ancient Texts for the Study of the Hebrew Bible: A Guide to the Background Literature
Ancient Texts for New Testament Studies: A Guide to the Background Literature
Any suggestions?

Thanks, Kenneth, but I'm not sure this is comparable to the two books I referenced. Those two are probably more literature surveys, whereas from the TOC of the book you linked it looks like the author zeros in on some of the major church fathers.
more specialized but consider:

I'd think you need to be a bit more specific. For example, your NT-example above, beginning after chap4, overlaps the church fathers almost completely (Mishnah/Talmud, Targums, and so forth).
If alternatively, you were wanting background, for example on Clement (eg the resurrection of the phoenix), I'm not sure of a single source; they're typically in the commentaries on the fathers.
Quasten's four volume Patrology or Drobner's The Fathers of the Church might well be what you're looking for. I only wish I could acquire them electronically from Faithlife.
Thanks, everyone!
