I want to search the Greek phrase ἐν πνεῦμα in NASB95, so I tried to type in the box "<Lemma = lbs/el/ἐν>" BEFORE "<Lemma = lbs/el/πνεῦμα>". But this may result in ἐν a few words before πνεῦμα. What should I type?

Try BEFORE 1 WORDS

Morgan:

Try BEFORE 1 WORDS

Also beware that the quote marks are not needed i.e.

<Lemma = lbs/el/ἐν> BEFORE 1 WORDS <Lemma = lbs/el/πνεῦμα>

should work.

I copied your line exactly into the search box, and did it in the following 6 situations--

With "WORD" in Bible, Basic, and Morph.

With "WORDS" in Bible, Basic, and Morph.

None worked.

Suggest searching Greek New Testament for:

<Lemma = lbs/el/ἐν> BEFORE 3 WORDS <Lemma = lbs/el/πνεῦμα>

with corresponding search results shown in NASB95

Yes. You'll definitely want to run a search like this in a Greek New Testament. Searching an English Bible for more than a single Greek word is bound to give you inaccurate results. The reverse interlinear data doesn't retain the original text order but instead follows the translation order. That means that any phrase searches, order searches, or proximity searches likely won't be reliable.

For example, "lemma:ἐν lemma:πνεῦμα" returns 34 results in the SBL GNT but 0 in the NASB.

Okay, this is new to me. How do you set up the corresponding NRSV95 in parallel with the Greek?

Blessings,

Towards the top left of the search panel you should see an Add versions box. Enter the Bible translation you want to use there

Sorry, I can't see it. Here is my search screenshot. Could you point it out?

Use the search panel rather than an inline search.

What is the search panel? What is an inline search? Where are they? I am silly not to know all these things.

I followed your instruction "use the search panel". The result is as follows--

But still, I still have the original question asked by Floyd Johnson--

How do you set up the corresponding NRSV95 in parallel with the Greek?

Do you see the "add" versions above the translation name? click it and add the translation you want.

In Search panel, click "+Add Versions" followed by entering Bible abbreviation, select Bible from list, press <Enter> for selected Bible to show:

Inline Search option is Multi-View Resources (also can have visual filters active with Inline Search).
