Cyclopaedia of Biblical, Theological, and Ecclesiastical Literature NOT showing up in my Factbook

I recently purchased the Cyclopaedia of Biblical, Theological, and Ecclesiastical Literature by John McClintock and James Strong. Its entries are incredibly thorough and insightful. For example, its information on Three Taverns as mentioned in Acts 28:15 is much longer and more detailed than all my other Bible dictionaries and encyclopedias. However, the only way I know how to look up terms in it is to go directly to that resource and either browse manually (which is painfully slow) or do a search within that resource, and then look for a search result where my search term happen. I've set it as a prioritized resource, and yet when I search on Three Taverns, the extensive article in my CBTEL doesn't even appear on the list of resources with that particular entry phrase. Am I doing something wrong, or did you guys just not create enough internal links or handles or whatever inside the Cyclopedia for me any of its entries to show up in the Factbook. Can you please fix this or tell me an alternate way to look the same entry word or phrase in multiple dictionaries and encyclopedias, other than the Factbook, and still find that find the definition or listing for a given search term in all my dictionary and encyclopedias?

Thanks!

If doing a Basic Search I would expect it to appear - but prioritisation doesn't affect search results placement - so you may need to scroll for it. I just checked and it appeared for me so if you are not seeing it, please post a screenshot of your search (use the paperclip icon in the forum editor)

For it to appear in the Dictionaries section of the Factbook, Faithlife needs to do some additional work and there is a backlog on doing this.

I would try doing a Lookup. Select the phrase, right-click, click Selection at the top left of the menu and then check the Lookup section on the right. You should see your top five prioritised dictionaries there, including this one if it is in the top five.

Here's a screenshot showing the Lookup I mentioned above

Thanks, Brad for highlighting this resource, I admit though having it, I had no idea of its superior status as a resource. I have been using Easton's as my go-to resource I will promote the Cyclopaedia to my second most prioritized resource in response to this post. Thanks!

Turns out I have this and didn't even know it. I guess I need to add it to my collection of dictionaries/encyclopedias for search purposes

I think I got this at a very reduced price as a perk for a subscription.

I think its age (c. 1881) is against it being tagged as a primary source for topics. If you use Topic Guide (in the Guides menu), enter Three Taverns and click the topic. You won't find it in the Topic section, even though it is prioritized, but it will appear in the Collections section.

.

I put it in a Collection called "Bible Topics" with a rule type:encyclopedia, which will pick up your bible dictionaries.

Enter the topic Second coming. It will be listed under a variety of headings e.g. Advent, Coming which is not the best presentation of the topic, but Cyclopedia eventually points you to Eschatology and Millennium.

I think that happens often with most people. The larger the library the more likely it will happen.

Ditto. Not sure how it slipped in, though James Strong is good, even a century later.

When I searched for Migne's work (headings, large text), only CBTEL had any entry. But only the supplemental volume.

Over the years, I’ve taken advantage of tier set sales. I imagine I picked it up that way.
