Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. Adding comments about the behavior on mobile and web apps would be appreciated by your fellow forumites. A search for "L/V 10 Tip of the Day site:community.logos.com" on Google should bring the tips up as should this Reading List within the application.

This tip is based on the forum post: Arranging order of commentaries - Logos Forums

When you have a Bible opened, select a portion of text, and right click, you open the Context Menu for that selection. If you select reference on the left, Lookup links are provided on the right. These are directly related to your priority list. Clinking on the link will open the resource to the selected reference.

By priority:

  1. NRSV is duplicated; one instance is ignored
  2. NRSV is the highest priority Bible and it contains Mark 1:4; it appears in Look up
  3. NABRE is the second highest priority Bible and it contains Mark 1:4; it appears in Look up
  4. NJB is the third highest priority Bible but is not downloaded on the machine (0 volumes) so it is skipped
  5. RGP is the fourth highest priority Bible but it included only the Psalms, not Mark 1:4 so it is skipped
  6. LES2 is the fifth highest priority Bible but it includes only the Septuagint, not Mark 1:4 so it is skipped
  7. ESV-CE is the sixth highest priority Bible and it contains Mark 1:4; it appears in Look up
  8. Bible prioritization has been exhausted. We continue into Bible Commentaries as they are also indexed by Bible reference and prioritization applies to a data type e.g. Bible reference. Wiley-Blackwell volumes on this machine do not cover Mark 1:4 so it is skipped
  9. Berit Olam volumes on this machine do not cover Mark 1:4 so it is skipped
  10. Sacra Pagina volumes on this machine do not cover Mark 1:4 so it is skipped
  11. Hermeneia volumes on this machine cover Mark 1:4; it appears in Look up
  12. Paideia volumes on this machine cover Mark 1:4 so it appears in Look up. This fills the maximum entry count in Look up stopping the processing of the other commentaries.
