L/V 10 Tip of the Day #44 Open Bibles in priority sequence
Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. Adding comments about the behavior on mobile and web apps would be appreciated by your fellow forumites. A search for "L/V 10 Tip of the Day site:community.logos.com" on Google should bring the tips up as should this Reading List within the application.
This tip is inspired by the forum post: Enhance Open Bible toolbar functions - Logos Forums
To open your highest priority Bible, click on the Bible icon in the tool bar.
To open the next highest priority Bible which contains the current reference, double click on the Bible tab between the x close icon and the end of the tab. Repeat as desired.
In the screen shot I have shown the prioritization as well as the tabs opened in order.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

This is very handy. It looks like a double-click anywhere in the title bar of the resource window does it.
Plus, it works with any type of resource. It's an awesome way to get to any type of resource in order of decreasing "favor". So if I can't find what I need in my top commentary/lexicon/dictionary/etc., I just keep strolling down the list until I get what I need without the need to open everything beforehand.
So I played with commentaries just to see what would happen. The WBC is my third highest commentary, and I had the ICC open to Isaiah 19:1. I double-clicked the title area of the tab, and it opened the 1985 WBC volume on Isaiah. I double-clicked the title area on THAT resource and interestingly, it opened the 2005 revised edition of the commentary rather than going to the AYB volume, which is my fourth ranked commentary.
And with a lexicon, it goes to the corresponding lexical entry as long as the lexical entry is designated in the little box on top (I'm drawing a blank on what it's called) instead of page number. If I designate, say, "Page 185" instead of "Γαβριήλ" and double-click, a "New Tab" is opened up inviting me to select a resource.
I tried the same with some Patristic literature with some interesting results.
I don't remember seeing this anywhere in the documentation; it's a nice little surprise. I'm going to have a lot of fun with this.
