Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. Adding comments about the behavior on mobile and web apps would be appreciated by your fellow forumites. A search for "L/V 10+ Tip of the Day site:community.logos.com" on Google should bring the tips up as should this Reading List within the application.

This tip is inspired by the forum post: BUG: Parallel Gospel Reader broken - Logos Forums

One Gospel harmony in my library is: Boisen, Sean. Composite Gospel: Parallel Passages. Bellingham, WA: Faithlife, 2017.  This is intended to serve as a general reference resource that stands alone. The label data (including what I call "eventlets") is not integrated into this data.

A number of the Bible harmonies, are available through the interactive Parallel Gospel Reader. Bellingham, WA: Faithlife, 2014. These include:

  • Aland, Kurt. Synopsis of the Four Gospels. Bellingham, WA: Logos Bible Software, 2009.
  • Eusebius of Caesarea. Eusebian Canons. Bellingham, WA: Logos Bible Software, 2009.
  • Burton, Ernest DeWitt. A Harmony of the Synoptic Gospels for Historical and Critical Study. New York; Chicago; Boston: Charles Scribner’s Sons, 1917.
  • Cox, Steven L., and Kendell H. Easley. Holman Christian Standard Bible: Harmony of the Gospels. Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers, 2007.
  • Jackson, Jeffrey Glen. Synopsis of Matthew, Mark and Luke. Bellingham, WA: Logos Bible Software, 2009.
  • Robertson, A. T. A Harmony of the Gospels. Bellingham, WA: Logos Bible Software, 2009.

One can set the resource to be viewed:

One can choose to include only the Gospels of your choice:

One sets the reference to be viewed in the normal manner. The section at the top of the screen is the requests entry but it is not automatically opened which leads some to not recognize that the reader has been positioned to the requested passage.

The Bible selection works as a simple menu; unfortunately, the multi-view feature appears to be broken.

By default, the Bible units are given in the order of the selected book and titled by the title in the selected book. However, the same menu that allow you to choose which Gospels to show, allows you to sort the results into canonical order for a particular Bible. In this view, you lose the headings.

This is the view that frequently leads to confusion.

These additional gospel harmonies cannot be viewed through the interactive viewer but are available only in the standard resource panel.
