Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. Adding comments about the behavior on mobile and web apps would be appreciated by your fellow forumites. A search for "L/V 10+ Tip of the Day site:community.logos.com" on Google should bring the tips up as should this Reading List within the application.

This tip is inspired by the forum posts: Search problem - Logos Forums

Someone copied the following search argument from Facebook. Here is how to tell it is ill-formed/won't work:

<{Person Jesus}> INTERSECTS <Sense to fulfill (prophecy)> INTERSECTS <Sense messiah>

1. The use of brackets indicates it is in an old format. New format uses parentheses in labels or to control order. Logos will try to covert this to a L10 format.

2. The use of spaces. The format is roughly field:value without spaces i.e. person:Jesus - lack of colons/use of space means the format is wonky.

So we can "fix" the format to:

person:Jesus INTERSECTS sense:"to fulfill" INTERSECTS sense:messiah

Sense is NOT any old value you invent, it must be a sense in the Bible Sense Lexicon. It is best to either look it up or use the autocomplete feature. Here are the options for "fulfill" ... I don't know what the Facebook poster intended. The same problem exists for Messiah.

Autocomplete and the error messages really do try to help you. If you don't remember the syntax or the allowable values, let them help you.
