What is the difference between "new resources" and "library" in the search results report

I am confused and I am sure I am missing something simple, but when I search my entire library fora word. say "baptism" - I get topic results, New Resources, and Library. The Library results are the only ones I can change the sort by rank or by book. What are the resources that show up in the "new resources" section and why can't I sort them by rank or book?

Did it say merge indexes now?  Or something like that.  If so, click on it and it will index the new resouces and merge them with your libary.

The area marked New Resources appears after you have added a new book(s) to your library. Logos4 will build a supplemental database rather than run a full Index (depending on the size of the supplemental database, if it is larger than some percentage, then it will force a full Index).

    1. Notice the Merge index now link. If you press this link it will have Logos 4 merge your supplemental index with the main index. Merge Index is working well in versions 4.0d and up, but in older versions of Logos 4 you need to use Rebuild Index as the merge function had problems. After the merge index you will not see the section New resources again (until you add more books).

I may need to post this in the MAC forum, but I do not have a Merge Indexes option in that section. Logos also is not currently indexing.

yes, posting in the Mac forum would be a good idea as others more familiar with this issue might be able to help.

  • Option: Rebuild Index command can be used to delete and rebuild indexes - may take several hours.

After indexes rebuilt, search does not show New Resources.
