Is there a list somewhere of all the English Bible translations available on Logos? I want to make sure I have all the available electronic versions in a collection. But I am unable to easily determine whether I am missing any translations since no single search term filters out all books but the Bibles.

Hi Phil,

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but you might want to type:

type:bible language:english

in the Library window.

You might try the upgrade button on the Logos home page and look at the list of English Bibles available.

Hope that helps,

George

Thanks - also useful for Collection building => Start with resources matching:

Found 1 commentary in Bible list, dragged to "Minus these resources".

Hi KS4J (and all listening in) (metaphorically)

Just followed your instructions and created the collection.

However how to keep it up to date?

Time for a 'Smart' collections facility like iTunes folders methinks.

New Bibles - if tagged as English Bibles - should automatically be added to the collection when downloaded into Logos.

Thanks Graham

However I look at the ESV in Library and I see that it has no tags - nor has the NLT so the 'if' in your reply would seem to be critical.

Or have I misunderstood?

Hi Mike.

Sorry I was using the word "tag" loosely.

Looking at the matching string which is used to create the collection there are two conditions "type"bible" and "language:english"

You can see from the fields associated with these Bibles that they do satisfy these criteria (which is why they are in the collection):

Does that make sense?

Graham

PS: I am doing this in the Windows version, don't know if there are any subtle changes in the Mac version

Thanks again Graham

Obvious when you explained it. Doh!

However Smile is there a way to see the 'criteria' attached to resources?

If you "right-click" (at least in Windows version) on the heading bar at the top of the library, you can select which attributes are displayed.

This affects which columns are shown in the library. More details (on this and other aspects of the library) are at http://wiki.logos.com/Library#How_can_you_view_more_details_in_the_Library_window.3f.

Is this what you were referring to?

In the wiki section on collections - http://wiki.logos.com/Collections - there is information about exactly what fields can be used for filtering and how they relate to these attributes.

When you click the little "i" icon (outlined in red), you should see a list like this. My fields were rearranged on the Windows version, but you can see the information available here.

EDIT: I see Graham and I posted at practically the same time. Between the two screenshots, you can see the options that are available.
