Why do only some volumes footnote in Pages (most dictionaries) and not others (Nelson's New Illustrated and New American Commentary)?

That is odd and inconsistent. Other's have reported similar experiences. However, until now, I was not one of them. I experience the same thing with the NAC. That is going to be frustrating.

Nearly all of my Biblical manners and customs resources don't footnote, nor have footnoted.

I am not completely certain, but I believe this problem was addressed some months ago and identified as a Pages problem. I have no problem with footnotes in either Word 2008 or Mellel.

So the problem is that Pages does not accept some citations, but others it does? Could you point me to that discussion?

Here is one reference: 82095.aspx I will look for more. It is the comment by David Mitchell near the bottom of the page.

There is a more detailed discussion here http://community.logos.com/forums/p/17186/130367.aspx It seems that footnotes should work in Pages 09. I don't use Pages, so I can't test it for you.

Not precisely. The main issue is that Pages has the worst text importing facilities of any word processor I've ever seen, especially with respect to footnotes. Whereas other applications sometimes go the route of writing funky AppleScripts that parse the content of the clipboard and issue UI commands to Pages, we decided to build a proper exporter to the Pages format. Unfortunately, the format is far from well-documented, so there may be occasional issues with the way that we export text to Pages. When such issues are well-described on the forums, we investigate and fix them.

Is it then only a problem a few users face? Or is it a problem all users face with only a few renegade resources?

The latter.

My workaround has just been to use the information page for each resource and copying the citation. Then making my own footnote. Any other ideas?

Wow, this problem is really annoying. Logos 4 Mac + NAC footnotes don't work with latest release of Scrivener and Word 2011.
