Any reason to keep Libronix installed?
Is there a need to keep Libronix for Mac installed? Such as needing it to recognize older formatted books, and then importing it to Logos 4 Mac? or will Logos 4 Mac recognize any Libronix books that I may purchase from third-party's?

You can always call customer services to unlock any third-party Logos books for you.

Libronix has been uninstalled a while ago for me. I'm almost starting to ask the question whether or not I keep the Windows version of L4 on my Mac! The progress on the Mac version has been truly great.

I don't have the MAC version, but I still keep L3 on my computer alongside L4 since I still don't trust L4 completely (especially when it comes to morph searches).

Other than dragging the old Libronix DLS application to the trash, does anyone else know of any of the old Logos 1 for Mac files that can be deleted to save some disk space?

Assuming you didn't change any defaults or add other install locations, you should delete the Libronix DLS folder inside:
/Library/Application Support
That is where all the resource files (which, depending upon your package, can be a very large directory) and other settings are stored.

L 1.2.2 for Mac does not do Morph searches.
Personally, I deleted Libronix for Mac many weeks ago. I think I had opened it once since L4 Mac was introduced. As someone else has commented, I am considering whether or not I need the Windows version any longer. However, I do like printing which is in L4.1 Win. Sentence Diagrams are also there, but I can live without that feature.

I took off Logos for Mac 1 months ago. I will be glad to be able to do printing, but since most things can be copied to Pages '09, Word for Mac, Keynote '09 or PowerPoint for Mac. Logos 4 Mac GM is working very well, I am so glad Logos is on the Mac.

Libronix for Mac is inferior in nearly every way to Logos 4—I see no reason to retain it. In fact, Logos 4 is even better at handling older books than Libronix is!

Libronix for Mac is inferior in nearly every way to Logos 4—I see no reason to retain it. In fact, Logos 4 is even better at handling older books than Libronix is!
A possible use for Libronix - can use while Logos 4 reindexing for hours [;)]
Observation: during indexing prefer to sleep or use Logos 4 on iPad.

I miss the old home screen with the automatic floating panels and using the stoplight buttons to interact with individual windows. The big gray screen in the background is weird and sort of ugly. I understand that the code was based on the Microsoft version and we get an enormous amount features faster because of this, but I'm hoping to have some of the Mac beauty that Logos 3 had put into Logos 4. It is really awkward to open menus to float panels and using an "x" in the top right corner to close windows. It still feels a little bit too much like a Windows port to me.

Just so I know what I'm doing, where are those files (or their Logos 4 Mac equivalents) kept? It seems you're telling us to delete all of our resources. I know you're not, really, but I'm asking how the new system works so I can avoid doing something dumb in the future. Can you attempt a brief explanation for me?

I'm not Martin but I thought I would clarify. The Libronix and Logos 4 paths are completely different (as the image below will illustrate). Their origin points in the directory are not the same. Deleting the resources for Libronix will NOT affect Logos 4. if you have both programs and only use Logos 4 you might as well get rid of Libronix in its entirety because Logos4 is not using the same resource files Libronix uses and nothing user defined imports into Logos 4 from Libronix on the Mac.

Mostly, but not always. Take for instance the "Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary". It contains some gorgeous charts and maps. The Libronix file weighs in at 374.1 MB while the Logos 4 file comes in at a wimpy 77.2 MB. The significance of this is that the graphics in the Libronix file are rendered at a much higher resolution and are consequently that much more useful. When copied and pasted into Preview, PowerPoint, or another similar program these graphics can be cropped, zoomed-in, etc., to a much greater scale and are thus more useful. Since Logos 4 can can handle Libronix files, I hacked Logos' SQLite databases to accept the older files. (I don't recommend you try this at home.) This worked for a while, but over time, as my Logos book files and application were updated, my hacked Libronix files were eventually replaced by Logos 4's inferior versions. The same applies for the Holman Bible Handbook and the Holman Bible Atlas--the Logos 4 files are inferior to the Libronix files. For that reason I keep Libronix installed on my Mac.
