Screen Resolution.... 1920 x 1080
Increasing Tex sizes reduce number of columns.... This is max text size with program scaling at 90%...
I can't see "show paged view" on my pull down and I have just upgraded to 4.1 SR3
"Show paged view" is a new feature available in 4.2 Beta 1. If you are interested in beta testing, please see the Beta 1 release announcement: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/24105.aspx for details.
ahh. Thanks I'll stick to the 4.1 and let you experts thrill us again. Have a happy Thanksgiving.
Are the above left-right and up-down arrows supposed to be responsive in the Page view?
The left and right buttons above navigate to previous/next history.
The up and down navigate the the previous/next whatever is selected in the pulldown.
That said, I would like to have some additional choices besides Article, Chapter, Book, etc. for the page view, namely Page (or Screen if you prefer to avoid confusion with printed page numbers) and column. Having Page/Screen would be convenient for us tabletPC users and Column would be convenient for those who want to advance only a single column to see the whole of a difficult to read sentence on the screen at one time that might otherwise be forced to be split across screens.
Could you please add navigation buttons to use in the full screen "Reading View" ? On Tablet PC... Tablet PC here, too. It would be helpful to have some page navigation. Now I have to rely on pen flicks and they are sometimes tricky in L4.

I noticed that I could turn pages in the paged view by scrolling my mouse wheel one click at a time. Is this true of all computer/mouse setups? I didn't see anyone mentioning it.
Jerry, I can't do it with a touchpad mouse.
Some folks complained about the inconvenience of using up/down arrows or pageup/pagedown but unless so long as it is just to turn to the next page, the space bar works just fine and cannot be any simpler to use.
I love the paged view functionality: thank you Logos!!! Additional feedback: Bob has alluded to some of the research that has gone into optimal conditions for reading. One question I have is what use was seen for more than two columns? Why was it not limited to two columns so as to imitate the two page look of a book? A related question would be more to fellow users: what do you prefer (find more useful)? A book-like look or a newspaper like look (more and smaller columns)? Would we rather have it as default a two column view and then be able to change it or do you prefer it the way it is? I noted that when in paged view, I cannot select text at the end of the page and unto the next page for copy. What I mean is this: suppose the current screen shows the Bible up to John 3:16. If I want to copy John 3:16-17, I cannot select both verses. The page does not scroll down as I attempt to select more than the last verse. I don't know whether this is a bug or just a normal limitation of the way the paged view works. I would add my vote to the curl turning page idea and a somewhat easier way to scroll through. But this is no complaint as I am very pleased with this feature even as it is right now. Blessings on you folks!

Francis,
I echo a lot of what you said. I love the Paged View! (I haven't had a new Logos feature that made me this excited in a while!)
Since this view is intended to be helpful to reading, I personally prefer the way it works currently (let Logos determine the number of columns based on optimal column width to minimize eye movement). It is nice to have it mimic a two-page physical book, but when you have a wider screen (or one with a wide aspect ratio), it is not really that useful for reading and may not be much better than the old one-column reading view.
Another reason I prefer the current design is I can quickly "page" through the book in Paged View to glance through the section headings and get a rough idea of the content, browse through any diagrams, tables, or drawings, etc, to get a general feel of the book that you can't otherwise get by just looking at the table of content -- much the same way we flip through physical books in bookstores. I just did that last night with Wayne Grudem's Systematic Theology book in preparation of a Sunday School lesson. I love that!
As the other posters (and I) have mentioned, if we can have a more visual way to turn the pages (big page turn arrows or page curls), that will make this perfect!
Thanks again, Logos!
Peter
You know, Peter, as I got passed the first impression based on expectation (I was looking for a two pager equivalent to a book feel), I found out that it is in fact not difficult to read when there are three or four columns on the screen. It reads quite well and definitely better than one column.
Jerry, I also have noticed you can advance the pages one wheel scroll advancement at a time. I found it almost better than the other ways but I'm still playing with it.
FInally! I asked Logos for this since the early days of L3. Must be years ago. Great to see it coming to reality!
Yes, it works for my wheel mouse too. Very nice and effortless.
Tablet notebook here (Lenovo S10-3T). Page navigation in full screen reading view would be wonderful. Love the paged view feature. I bought my netbook so I can read the books in my library when on the go or on the couch in my living room. These improvements will make reading a lot more practical and enjoyable (and will make me want to buy more books for my library [:)] ).

Page Up and Page Down are possible but i think you mean the equivalent of turning real pages in a book? You might want to look at UserVoice to see if it has been requested.
Nice feature! I would like to see an option to change text alignment to "justify" (that is wat MS Word calls it). Now the collumns are left-aligned, and the right side of the collumn is "jumpy". I would like to see straight collumns, just like most newspapers and books have.

I, too, would prefer an option for full justification (i.e., both margins). Is this really that difficult to implement?
i like paged view except for the problem of highlighting across pages (already brought up by someone else). I prefer reading that way.
Here is another thought of mine on a thread from yesterday: I wish Logos opened up parallel resources in paged view when my resource is already set to paged view.

I'm not sure whether I'm the one you're referring to who brought it up, but did you see my workaround for this? You can click at the beginning of where you want the selection, then scroll down using the scroll bar to where you want the selection to end, then hold down the Shift key while clicking at the end of the selection, and it will span across page breaks. You can't simply drag and scroll, though, which is a bit inconvenient.
Rosie, I didn't remember who discussed it, but I DO remember your workaround now. I think when I read that several weeks back, I was doing a fast skim and it didn't sink in. I have tried it now, and appreciate your reminder. Blessings.
