ESV Study Bible
I found that the resolution of some of the images in the ESV Study Bible is too low, which is very inconsistent with other image resources in Logos library. Considering both the Logos and the ESV Study Bible are so famous, I think that these images should have a better quality.
Here is an example:
I am posting the exact resolution from the Logos.
Thanks.

Another minor problem.
In the "Articles and Resources", "HISTORY OF SALVATION IN THE OLD TESTAMENT: PREPARING THE WAY FOR CHRIST", it is tagged by the verses too.
i.e. if I type 1Sam1:11 in the verse box, they actually might have jumped to here instead of the regular footnotes.
So, please make a workaround on this. Basically when one type the verse no in the box, they expect the regular notes only, because those notes are in "Articles and Resources" rather than the usual footnotes.
Thanks.

Yes, several others have pointed out the poor resolution (e.g., here and here). It's the same on the ESV site itself, so it's not Logos's fault. They're just providing the images the same as they got them from the publisher. But it is a shame. I hope they will reconsider and give Logos higher resolution images. Of course this would make the download of the resource take much longer, but for that one-time hit, it would be worth it.

In Accordance, this same graphic is 1600 X 1100. That's significantly better resolution. So, obviously Accordance was able to get higher resolution graphics from the publisher.

I'm able to view this drawing at a much higher resolution on esvonline.org (free access if you purchased the hardcopy ESV Study Bible).

That's a pity. I heard that is a more professional software used by many researchers, which seems to be true then...0 -

Pity that it is not true to me, who have purchased two digital copies of ESVSB. They should have changed it. Since it is electronic anyway, why don't they give me access to the web version.0 -

I'm sorry but I believe the image online is bigger pixel-wise only because they have included the caption information in the upper LH corner. The actual image that Kolen attached to his original post is the same size as the same portion of the image on the ESV site as far as I can tell. Please double check because I don't want to have missed something. I haven't checked any other images so don't know if there could actually be 'bigger' images online than we have in Logos.
If there are higher resolution images available (as in Accordance) it would be very nice to have them in Logos.

IMHO it doesn't say anything about Accordance professionalism, just says a lot about the ESV Study Bible publisher not giving Logos better pictures. I don't know but I checked their on-line version of ESV SB some time ago and the pictures resolution looked the same as in Logos to me.

While the image in Accordance does contain "caption information in the upper LH corner" accounting for some of the size difference, the actual image is also considerably larger. See the attachment below. The top image is copied from Logos4Mac and displayed at actual size. The image underneath is copied from Accordance and displayed at actual size.

Oops. Forgot to add that this particular image is from Nehemiah 3:1. Make sure you're comparing the same image!

That is helpful. One of the problems in the images available in Logos (and online) is that when there is type within the image (as in your examples) the lower resolution image makes that type very hard to read. That is a big detraction from the value of the images. The artistic part is clear enough at lower resolution, but the print areas are not. One can clearly read the text on the larger image you showed from Accordance.
I find it puzzling that the images online would be of lower quality than those supplied to Accordance. Perhaps they were concerned with bandwidth issues. Never-the-less it is nice to know the images are available at higher resolution. Again, it would be very helpful to have at least those that mix text and images at the highest resolution available.

Yes, definitely. I hope Logos will get those better resolution pictures for us soon.

This is why I avoided buying the ESVSB in Logos: I only wanted it for the images, and Logos' track record in the handling of images has been hit and miss, so I knew I better wait.
Logos' Infographics images are great, but images from book resources often seem to be supplied in less than optimal resolutions. If Logos/Crossway sees fit to give us bigger images in the ESVSB, then I'd buy it.

...and we will get it in the next automatic download of resources' updates. (after Logos gets those pictures).
