In no particular order:

  • Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary
  • Anchor Yale Bible (if it's a really good price)
  • Commentary on the NT use of the OT
  • The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
  • Early Judaism Bundle
  • JPS Tanach
  • JPS Tanach Commentary
  • JPS Guide to Jewish Traditions
  • Jewish NT Commentary
  • Eastern Orthodox Theology / Eastern Orthodox Christianity

You may have misunderstood. ... It's the "12 Days of Christmas" .... Not ...  "The 12 years of Christmas"Stick out tongue

LOL.

Harsh.

Funny, but harsh.  :-)

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

Daniel Bender:

that's funny. My wife keeps asking me why I bought a laptop. . .the only time I use it is when it's hooked up to my 24" monitor.

Use my laptop at Church weekly (I take notes on the sermon) - it is often wired into the church projector - the screen is 96 inches wide

Math has always been a thorn in my side.  It's a regular joke that I'm so bad at Math I won't even preach out of the book of Numbers.  Stick out tongue

So I'll leave it to you Jerry, which one would YOU take away?

I say they should just add an extra day and forget about it.

I would save up all 12 of my days and cash it in at the end for the ICC at $300.

There seems to be no consensus, not even on one resource. I noticed someone else suggested the AYD. I hope at the very least this is one of the Christmas specials.

As soon as you all consent to my list we'll be just fine.  Stick out tongue

The only problem is, if I got my wish and my list made the cut, I couldn't afford it.  Crying  I really have to start leaving some book budget for December blowouts.

1. Evangelical Dictionary of Theology, Elwell

2. New Testament Theology, Schreiner

3. SESB for Logos Users

4. Romans (ICC), Cranfield (both volumes)

5. Acts (ICC), Barrett (both volumes)

6. 2 Corinthians (ICC), Thrall (both volumes)

7. Matthew (ICC), Davies and Allison (all three volumes)

In the spirit of the season, I'll leave the other five for others to pick.

I'd vote for that list, though I probably couldn't afford to buy it, even at sale prices.

December is looking to be another big prepub month. (arggh.  do I cancel or spend?)

That's a great list Mark!  Even though I own the ICC series and would "miss out" on the bargains - it probably would hold the hopes of many.

Me either. Unless we got a March Madness-like 75% off. (The irony here is that the whole ICC NT would probably cost less than all those volumes individually.) And my book budget will be shot in December.

I got the best Christmas gift already, so no problem if I don't get any of these.

Fortunate you are.

Probably more folks would go for the lighter fare. Maybe a 12 Days of Christmas for Scholars, Pastors, and Seminarians? (We'd have to include Rosie, of course. She wants in on everything.)

Yes

I currently have the print version of EDT and have really enjoyed the articles. Concise and well worded. I had to purchase it for a class I am taking. I wish I would have known it was on Logos before I went to Amazon.

Since most of the stuff in the OP list are in Portfolio, I'd rather see a few things (at least some) that AREN'T in Portfolio.

(I specifically remember buying the "Commentary on the NT use of OT" last year for a great price) .

This sounds like something I would like, but I cannot find it. Any chance you got the name wrong?
