Dan DeVilder:
If I actually had the cash to purchase something, I WOULD go to all that work.  Tapped out, unfortunately.

Dan, I hear you.  Not sure how much I can afford either.  Thought maybe I'd try to pick a few really 'needed' choices and put in a request with my wife for a Christmas present.

Dan DeVilder:
I wonder if this could be done in Excel and combined with a formula to figure up the sum of what you don't have or do want compared to the price of what the package is listed as.

By the way, I think Excel would probably do a better job than Word, but I'm not too proficient at Excel yet (just upgraded to Office 2010 and still learning how things work), so I stayed with Word.  Perhaps someone else on the Forums could do something with Excel and pass it on to the rest of us.

Worth noting here... some of the prepubs that have been published since early October are included in the individual book sales being offered.   I checked the prices against my prepub "photo" and several are even a bit less (even almost half on the less expensive books) than the prepub price that was offered! I will definitely be picking those up.

Thank you Logos for some great resources at great prices!Big Smile

http://www.logos.com/product/6055/anchor-yale-bible-mark-8-16 is $27.50 on the current Christmas Sale and was $37.95 on pre-pub (I got it on pre-pub)

http://www.logos.com/product/6053/anchor-yale-bible-nahum is $32.50 on the current Christmas Sale and was $49.95 on pre-pub (I got it on pre-pub)

So there are some great sales to be found!

Rebecca RG:

I believe the following page gives a good indication of which books are already in our collections.  Perhaps as good as Logos can do at present.  I reached it from the Browse All Products page, in the filter list on the left as 'Christmas Specials', then click on the Master Collection.

Rebecca

Thank you, Rebecca!  And Dan, etc, the books I own already are grayed out on the above page.  I've splurged and got only books I really want.  Big Smile

the new Logos resource recognition program still is not completely accurate.  One example: according to the website, I don't own Eerdmans Dictionary of the Bible.  I do.

I like Apples.  Especially Honeycrisp.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to see what yesterday's (12/13/2010) prices were? I have a few items in my Amazon "universal wish list", so I can compare those prices to today's for resources in the collection. For example, the 8 volume Boettner collection is $60.48; yesterday it was $109.95. But it shows a retail price today of $120.95. So if I don't have a recent historical price for a resource, I can't see what the real savings is.

Thoughts? Thanks,

Donnie

Google search the title and then select "Cache" under the Logos.com link.

I didn't see a post about this, and I've done only limited verification that it's working. But if you start with the base URL for the specials:

http://www.logos.com/products/search?Specials=Featured

and then suffix it with a search word in the query string, you can filter the list further. For example,

http://www.logos.com/products/search?Specials=Featured&q=grammatical

searches for resources that match the word "grammatical" *within* the list of specially featured resources.

with the sale I was able to complete my IVP New Testament Commentary (bought individually), picked up Dictionary of Deities and Demons in the Bible at a huge discount, and then jumped on some great Southern Baptist resources previously locked away in collections or out of my price range.  Thanks Logos!

Wow, I think the possibility to build our own collection of 50% discount is by far the best I ever seen in Logos for Christmas. I just went through the list, picked all I would like to have (some great stuff like Dead Sea Scrolls in English) than purged the list from those I can live without (it took me a while Smile )  and now... I need to be man and click the PROCEED button Hmm

While I didn't spend a ton, I got some things I wanted and received a very good deal. Thanks very much for letting us build our own collection!

I was just wondering if this was a typo? Is the whole collection suppose to be posted or just part of the collection?

I guess I have the same question concerning the The Preaching the Word Series in the master collection I did not find all 19 volumes included. According to the master library page the book of Isiah, Luke vol 2, the sermon on the mount, Ephesians, and first and second timothy are missing. I am wondering if these are just typo errors or if the whole collection is not really included?

No, that is not a typo. Some collections are only partially included for the Christmas deal.

I know the partial collection thought is frustrating yet I've found multiple opportunities to build to various commentary collections from the base package.

In fact almost anything that is multi-volume is only partially represented. One volume of a five volume dictionary for example.

At the prices now it might be reasonable to buy them. Realize it might be awhile (if ever) before the rest of the set or series is discounted.

At $1.00 a book one could wait some time to pick up the rest.

I also like the parameter unlocked=no

http://www.logos.com/products/search?Specials=Featured&q=grammatical&unlocked=no

Very helpful.

Thank you, Logos.  Now I have something to play with until Jan 2 :-)
