I know. I made a thread about it several days ago, but Logos doesn't seem to have noticed. I guess they have a few other things to do...

Great! And the Psalms one actually looks interesting.

Rushdoony New Testament Commentary Collection (3 vols.)
Is Rushdoony's "Gospel of John" commentary included? The Master Collection product description listing shows that title by Roy Gingrich, not by Rushdoony.
(I have not downloaded my new Master Collection yet due to a hard drive upgrade, so I can't check that myself.)

The Gospel of John
The goal of fallen man is self-deification, to be as God (Gen. 3:5), whereas the goal of redeemed man is to be God’s covenant man. Christ’s perfect humanity is our standard, not his deity. We cannot have Christ as our God if we will not have him as our true man, as our federal head. In the first Adam, we are born into sin and death; in the last Adam, we are born into justice or righteousness and life.
Jesus is the true bread of life, come down from heaven. His flesh, his true humanity, is our bread of life; this he gives for the life of the world. We are in him no longer the sinful and death-bound sons of fallen Adam, but the just and life-bound people of the last Adam. Christ gives us his flesh, his glorious humanity, so that we are remade into people of righteousness and eternal life.
To feed on Christ is to know him as the true man and our only hope for life. We become members of him and serve his purpose, to bring every area of life and thought into captivity to him.
In this commentary, renowned theologian Rousas John Rushdoony maps out the Gospel of John starting from the obvious parallel to the book of Genesis (“In the beginning was the Word”) and takes the reader through the glorious conclusion of Christ’s death and resurrection.

(none)Thank you David. I am considering placing an order tomorrow to complete a few of the collections that I know I want (like Rushdoony) while they are available at 50% off. This was one of those questionable titles in the product description page.

A. T. Robertson Collection (15 vols.) -- Missing 3 volumes
Once again, I think the Master Collection product description page has an error.
It lists "Studies in the Epistle of James" as written by G. C. Berkouwer
I believe it is the same title by A. T. Robertson (seeing as Berkouwer didn't write one.)
Am I correct?
The three missing volumes appear to be:
- $20.00 The Glory of the Ministry, Paul's Exultation in Preaching
- $26.75 Types of Preachers in the New Testament
- $22.72 The Pharisees and Jesus: The Stone Lectures for 1915-16, Delivered at the Princeton Theological Seminary

Yes you are right, you might want to look at the second sheet of the google doc or excel file as I listed the resources that were missing from the collections.
From what I am seeing now, it appears that Logos updated the Master Collection page adding authors (in several cases the authors do not match the resources that are being shown on the 50% off sale). Most of the authors names were not posted on the original website lists.

Edited ---After I posted this I saw your updated info.
Great! Does this mean I am working with flawed data?
Time to start over again. [:(]
Edited again after looking at your second page of the Excel Spreadsheet:
WoW! You rock Praiser.
Awesome! Kudos & high-five time.
(Or as JK once said, "Happy dance" time!) Really, Thank You.

No, since the Master Collection resources never changed on the excel file, only the associations of the resources to collections. As I went through them one by one I found resources that were named partially and completed collections. You will notice that the smaller lists that I added along the way showed some "missing volumes" corrections as I caught them. The last excel sheet is as accurate as I could get to being a complete representation of all the collections included.

Praiser,
Thanks for all of your help. God's Blessings be upon you.

That second page came about as I was searching for the books in collections. I copied and pasted the titles from the website's individual collection pages, colored them a bright blue color and placed an x in an added column for ease in collecting the remaining volumes that were missing. Sorted the resources on titles and the titles that were highlighted in blue were easy to find and mark. Then I moved the resources that didn't have matches to the second page. I have to say that I started this after I had already done several of the collections, so not all of them will be found on the second page. But it helps!
I hope everyone examines the new files....they are really A LOT more helpful!

Thank you very much. I couldn't see not sharing my findings. No need for everyone to put in the time, and there are many who just wouldn't have the time or would be overwhelmed (as I was at first).
It was my pleasure to share.

Hi Praiser,

As one of the overwhelmed...thank you, Praiser. I jumped as soon as I could tell the Master Collection was an awesome deal, without the fortitude to determine the details. As it turned out, I gained about 1100 'new' resources on top of Portfolio and many add-ins. Your careful work has shown how many more of those 1100 are resources I value over and above my initial lowball guess of about 300!.

I am using your latest spreadsheet and zipping along much faster now.
I found this correction to the list for :
Praiser said:Broadman & Holman Preaching Resources Collection (18 vols.) -- Missing 8 volumes
If you have Scholar's Silver or above six of the eight titles are already in your library. The only two lacking are:
back to work [:)]
EDIT: It appears this Monty Mills title (listed as missing from the Master Collection in the final spreadsheet):
"The Life of Christ: A Study Guide to the Gospel Record"
is included in all base packages as The Life of Christ .

The Original Languages Supplement happened to catch my eye as I was looking over the Missing Volumes list. I couldn't remember seeing it on any list here in this thread. Nor on your Link page. So I looked up the product page, to see what was included.
The next thing I noticed about it was that A Grammar of Biblical Hebrew (Joüon/Muraoka) was listed as missing, although it is included, and is, in fact, noted as part of the collection on your first page.
I then realized that only 2 volumes were included and that both of those were Hebrew, which made me click on the link to the Advanced Hebrew Supplement. Where I found that if you list those two titles under this Supplement instead of the Original Languages one, you can add Davidson's Grammar as well and get 3 out of 11 vols., which to me beats 2 out of 12.
Curiosity awakened, I then clicked on the Advanced Greek Supplement (6 vols.) as well, and found another two titles you have listed as singles: Idioms... and Intermediate...
EDIT: The JPS Classic Midrash Collection is actually 4 vols., missing 3. You've got it right on the Missing Volumes page; it's just on the list here and the Links page that it's wrong, and that's my fault.

The "missing list" does not take into consideration any base packages. It means that those resources are not included in the Master Collection, but you may already have them in your library. I couldn't take it that far. But if you have Portfolio and sort on the Collections column and look at the books within the collections... if all the resources of a collection are yellow, then it is very likely that the entire collection was included in the Portfolio package and they kept a few out of the Master Collection (which to me is a good thing since I already have Portfolio and it would mean more duplicates for those with that base package).
Actually several of the singles in the Master Collection are already included in several of the base packages.

Yes, that was in the beginning when I wasn't sure I was even going to include the missing list for everyone to look at and apparently didn't delete that resource from the page when I found it. You will also notice that I did not include that collection on the list of those included with missing resources.
There are several Collections where only a book or two were included but it was such a small fraction of the total collection I did not include it on the list, but did show it on the excel sheet.

The "single volume" designation came from the website....I went to each of the individual resource pages and checked under the Recommendations section to see if it was included in anything other than base packages, if so it was put into that collection. If Logos didn't associate it with anything other than a base collection, then it was tagged as a single. Latter I began to include the links to the webpages to make it easier for everyone to research.
I did notice that the websites association of individual resources to collections may be missing in more than a few cases. Where I was obviously aware of it I made the notations, but this was a VERY time consuming project and I had to stop someplace and had to stop soon or the work would be too late for anyone to take advantage of it in making their decisions on the sale.
For those who are adept at Excel. It would be possible to take this Master Collection Excel file and filter out the lesser collections and extract the 250, 500, and 1000 Collections information from it, since all of the books have been included and associated.

They're still working on that. It's better than it was some months ago, but it's still far from reliable. Lots of books that are part of collections don't show that they are.
Praiser said:this was a VERY time consuming project
That I can certainly understand! The only way to find these 'hidden' collections is to already know about them, or to come across them accidentally, like I did.
Thanks again for your work!

I am extremely grateful for the many hours you put into this and for presenting it early enough to help so many people. That last Spreadsheet file went way beyond my expectations. (You must have spent your whole holiday on it.) There is no need to apologize or explain.
Like you said, I doubt there will be any "buyer's remorse" on this one. The Spreadsheet will be helpful for the coming year when people want to round out a collection. I just hope a few more people will get in before time runs out. You have swayed more than you know.

ERROR in Excel file.... Systematic Theology (3 vols.), by Charles Hodge NOT Pannenberg.
Website Errors??:
Studies on Saving Faith, by G. C. Berkouwer should be by Pink since Berkouwer doesn't have that title and Pink is the one on sale.
The Holy Spirit, by Charles Caldwell Ryrie should also be by Pink since Ryrie is not on sale and was not in the download.
The Lord's Prayer, by Derek Prime should be by Pink since there is no such title by Derek Prime and The Lord's Prayer for Today, by Derek Prime is also listed.Oh, and the 2010 Master Collection now shows 2017 resource lines listed since they split the multiple volume resources out into their individual resources.

I am using my Libronix 3 (L3) files, in cases of doubt, to show me which resources are licensed via which collection or package.
My Systematic Theology by Hodge came with my base packages (also in L3 PBB format). It is NOT licensed via the Christmas 2010 Master collection.
Systematic Theology by Pannenberg is licensed via its original stand alone license, via Portfolio, AND via the Christmas 2010 Master collection.
Not sure how many individual volumes would be in the 2010 Master Collection as Logos seems to work BOTH ways, sometimes combining book volumes into a single resource file, and sometimes supplying several files to cover what otherwise looks like one title.

Hi Praiser,
I just wanted to add my thanks for the work you have put in with this.
I wasn't really planning on spending this Christmas, but, having reviewed the spreadsheets you produced, I was persuaded to take the plunge and buy the Master Collection.
It finished downloading last night and I have now had opportunity to peruse the new resources (my library count leapt from 2281 to 3781). I am absolutely delighted with the collection.
Thanks once again,
Andy
