Does anyone know why "additional actions" might not show up when I right click on some documents in Word 2010 and shows up in others?  This is really driving me crazy.

Are the scripture references exactly the same? Did you try cutting and pasting the sames reference into both documents to be sure it was not something like, no caps on the Bible reference? 2010 is more sensitive to spelling, etc. than 2003. Or just try retyping the entire reference.

Do you have Logos open while you are in Word? According to what I've witnessed, Logos has to be open for the Smart Tags to work.

I think the other users have the answer but check this wiki article (the wiki is searchable).

Got Logos opened.  I am typing my sermon in one doc and have my research in another doc right next to it.  The sermon doc will not display additional actions as a menu option while the other document next to it will.

Thanks for the link.  I am beginning to think that the "outlining feature" or "numbering format" that I use in my sermon in Word 2010 is the culprit.  If I type a reference in a body text line then the "additional actions" option pops up on the right click menu, but if I am anywhere in a numbered point or an outlined point it doesn't show up.  Who would I contact to point this bug out too?  Microsoft or Logos?

Yep. I can reproduce this. In fact, I tried it with phone number (a different type of Smart Tag that is unrelated to LOGOS) and got the same result (i.e., it does not recognize the tag when used in a header).

This means that is a Microsoft implemenation of Smart Tags to not look for Smart Tags in headers. I am sure that they will not see this as a bug.  Microsoft went backwards with Smart Tags in the recent releases of Office.

Word 2007 implementation allows Logos Smart Tag in headers/footere and lists. In pre-formatted sections (eg type text here), though, I had to right click and Remove Content Control

Oh well, I can't seem to get it to work in Word 2010. I have read all the articles and believe I am following the instructions...

Win7 64 running Office 2010 32bit

No biggie. It was kinda cool when I used with Word 2007.

Well, I think I figured it out. I had installed Office 2010 in click-to-Run mode while I waited for my install DVD's to arrive. But, I had read that SOME things did not work with Click-to-run... So, on a lark, I decided to uninstall Click-to-Run and install the msi version.

It now works and I am guessing that it is because I am using the msi version.

Hi James, I have a similar problem. Last week I purchased a new computor i7 quad core with 12 gb ram. I also upgraded to office 2010 from 2007. Logos does not show in my "additional actions" . Can some please help.

I suggest you upgrade to Logos 6 Core Engine (free) and see if the problem persists (also see my response below).

I have upgraded Logos on my laptop (Windows 7).  However for whatever reason Logos decided not to support Windows Vista (my desktop) so upgrading it to version 6 is not an option.  Kind of sad actually.

If you can't update to Logos 6 (see my previous response) then check this wiki article - unfortunately being on Logos 4 means that certain functions will cease to work over time and Faithlife will not upgrade/fix facilities or interfaces that had been supporting the function. The same is true for Logos 5 and Smart Tags, hence the recommendation to upgrade to Logos 6 (for free).

It will support the free Logos 5 upgrade, though

This is posted in the Logos 4 forum so it is reasonable to assume Logos 4. Do you want it moved to Logos 5?

Ok I just did a Google search for the the problem and it landed me in that forum.  Since the problem would be related regardless of the version since all something has to do us show up in the "actions" box for Microsoft Word it is probably applicable to any version of Logos.  However,  should you so desire to move it, I have no objections.  There is probably an easy fix for this.

Since Logos 4 will run on XP and the others don't, the answer isn't necessarily the same.
