Getting Terry's sentence diagrams into L4 without actually having L3?

How can this be done...?
I've been fiddling with this for a while and I'm stumped.
Help...

Save them to .../my documents/Libronix DLS/SentenceDiagrams/
Then import them via import sentence diagrams

Q: is there a gap in the name of the Libronix DLS folder as you've typed it?Robert Pavich

A: Yes. There's a gap in Libronix DLS but not in sentence diagrams. Here's a copy and paste from Windows 7, note that Documents or My Documents will depend on your OS version I think.:
...\Documents\Libronix DLS\SentenceDiagrams

Thanks TB that was it....the gap in the DLS folder's name....importing now....

Peace to all! *smile*Robert Pavich said:Since I truly appreciate Terry's really EXCELLENT! sentence diagrams, I thought I'd look at that zip file, Robert. Missing is Terry's Jude.
Also, Terry's James 1, 2, 3, 4. I think that's all that are missing.
Sorry I can't look it up myself tonight. It's almost 11:30 my time; and I must needs to get up for a Doctor's Eye Specialist appointment tomorrow morning.

I, for one, would appreciate as many of these as I could get. Downloaded the zip file...working great...so any links to others would be more than welcomed.

Do these work on Macs!

I especially appreciate his work while we still can't easily share files in Logos 4. True dedication.

I'd like some help on this too. I haven't had any success importing sentence diagrams into L4 Mac. Has anyone else been able to do it?

Thank you for the information. I'm trying to follow your instructions also. I created the new directory and got as far as entering the "Import Sentence Diagrams" command .... and apparently nothing happened. Should I find the new files under the File drop down? If not, where? Have I done anything wrong?

Martin,
I can only speak for Windows...but this is what needs to happen.
The sentence diagrams have to be in your documents folder inside two sub folders..
Example:
C:\My Documents\Libronix DLS\SentenceDiagrams
or in win 7
C:\Users\yournamehere\Documents\Libronix DLS\SentenceDiagrams
The thing to notice is that there IS a space in the Libronix folder name but NOT in the sentence diagram folder...that's what was hanging me up...nothing was happening.
Once I corrected that....logos immediately imported them after the command.
Check that you have the EXACT spelling of the folders....tip: you can cut/paste the folder address from your address bar by right clicking and choosing "copy address to text"

Well, what do you know, I spelled "sentence" wrong! And me with my spelling trophy in the eighth grade (40 years ago!).
Thank you,

Here’s what I'm doing for Mac (attempting to follow guidelines around the forum)...
- Download zip file - unzip
- Copy files into Macintosh HD/ Users/ myname/ Library/ Application Support/ Libronix DLS/ SentenceDiagrams
- Type 'Import all' in command box = nothing.
Am I doing something wrong? Wrong location? Wrong process?
Help!

So do we have to create the libronix DLS folder and the sentenceDiagram folder?

Yes...if you don't have L3 installed or aren't still there from a previous L3 installation.

As I mentioned in another post, the zip file Robert (Bless you, Robert!!! *smile* ) sent didn't have all of Terry Cook's sentence diagrams that he shared. I've been to an eye doctor today; and I don't feel much like trying to find all the posts for you; however, I wanted to alert you that they are there! Somewhere in these Forums! *smile*
Terry is a truly excellent Greek scholar, and over the years -- starting in the newsgroups -- many wonderful scholarly items with the Logos Community including his New Testament Greek Grammatical notes.
Obviously I am a big fan of Terry's and have been personally enriched by many of his "sharings" over the years as I've deeply studied God's Word! *smile*
Thank you once again, Terry!
A couple of years ago, Terry was featured by Phil on the Blog. I'm sending a screen shot. Some of you might be interested. Perhaps the links will work?? If not, you will still be able to locate the Blog article for the live links --- that was for Logos3.0g, BTW, but they work just great in Logos 4.

For those of you who "want it all"(!!) (and, who doesn't sometimes, eh?) ..... here is the list of the sentence diagrams that Terry shared with us over the years.
There wasn't quite enough room for all the five chapters of James to show up in my screen shot; however, all 5 of them -- AND -- all the others! -- have been shared with us by Terry.
Of course, I will remain grateful! *smile*

Would any of this have to do with licences? I have a feeling that the email address linked with L3 is different to the one linked with L4. Should that matter, if you could create a file without L3?
I'd really love to have these diagrams in my library!! Any help greatly appreciated!

I'm on Windows7 so have no ideas for you.............. Sorry! You might want to try one of the Mac Forums. Also, I don't know for sure that the sentence diagrams work in Mac.

I've just managed to successfully import the sentence diagrams into L4 on my PC, which has synced with my Mac - so I finally have them.
But still no joy in how to do this on in L4 Mac - either it can't be done, or it's done a different way.
Thanks Terry for the

I think it can't be done - presumably because there was never an L3 on the Mac: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/20473/153931.aspx#153931

Mark,
Q: IF someone imported these to L4...then there would be files present somewhere that are now L4 sentence diagram files...right...?
Do you think it would be possible to find them and get them to a Mac user?

Unfortunately, you are probably correct (as you usually are). It has been so long since I started L4 Win, that I would probably spend half a day with updates and indexing. [:(]

In L4 all the sentence diagrams are stored in one file: %localappdata%\Logos4\{random}\Documents\SentenceDiagram\SetenceDiagram.db
Unfortunately, copying the one file would replace all sentence diagrams on the host machine, and is likely to cause sync issues.

Just turn updates to manual, and leave the internet connection on. Syncing your Mac docs to Windows will take a little while, but not half a day.[:)]

Hi Robert
Just thought I would look at this!
I have just imported one of Terry's diagrams (which are really good) and what gets updated is the Sentence Diagram database file - not a separate file.
This is in the "SentenceDiagram" folder in your Logos4 Documents folder.
So I don't see any mechanism (short of resorting to SQL extraction and insert) for just copying L4 versions of Terry's diagrams to other L4 users.
Graham
Edit: Sorry, I see Mark got there first.
