Droid woes

Every once in a while I log onto logos.com to see if there is any news about when the android app for logos will be available, but the same message about no known timeframe for its release has been on the page for nearly a year Sure would be nice to have an android app for logos. Biblia.com is fine, but doesn't compare to having an actual app.

Welcome [:D]
Observation: Logos.com announcement about Android application development was 1 Nov 2010 (about 7 months ago).
With improved Android devices in pipeline, if buying one primarily for Logos use, recommend waiting for Logos application to ship first.
Once Logos Android application stable and ready for public use, anticipate an announcement, which will please and excite many Logos users.

I have not partaken of Apple Kool-Aid. Having said that, I check the Android page of Logos almost daily and was tempted at one point to make it my home page. I'm sure Logos checks their web stats to see which page is visited most frequently. I want to hit that page frequently so they see a high demand for the Android app. I also search the forum for any references to Android. There have been references to Twitter posts by a couple of Logos employees talking about the app and even a screenshot.
I rarely use biblia.com or library.logos.com because I find them unusable for reading on a small screen and navigation on the Kindle is too tedious. That is primarily why I would like an Android app for tablets. Generally, I export to Kindle for books that I want to read and not just reference, but an Android app would eliminate that step.

Paul I understand yhr frustration. I agree that Biblia.com and Logos.Library.com are not really good solutions. In a pinch for something basic I have used them but for the most part it is a poor substitute. I have seen the Apple product and it is very nice, but not owning an iPhone or iTouch it is useless to me. I know Logos is working on it, but it would be nice to at least have a working Beta to get a general idea of its strengths and weaknesses.
Logos 4 remains a great application and I am glad that both the PC and Mac worlds have access in their native environments. In mobile apps, I would like to see the same for Android.
If anyone from Logos is looking at these threads, it would be nice if we could see an Alpha (or better yet a Beta) version for a select group to begin testing with.
Thanks for your continued development and support for studying God's Word.
In Christ,
Ken

Bob Pritchett posted Please try the user survey! which includes link to http://www.logos.com/usersurvey that has questions about mobile devices and places to include comments.
Logos user voice # 32 item (with status planned) => http://logos.uservoice.com/forums/42823-logos-bible-software-4/suggestions/717308-create-an-app-for-google-s-android-operating-s?ref=title
If buying an Android device primarily for Logos use, good idea to wait until Logos Android application(s) ship. Android platform has wide variety of hardware capabilities; suspect http://biblia.com will perform better than Logos application on some device models (from several manufacturer's).
Currently not know if Logos plans to follow Google's eBook example for Android (phone and tablet applications) => http://books.google.com/help/ebooks/android.html
Like other Logos applications, anticipating Android application(s) to ship when stable and usable albeit lacking some features, which will be added in future updates. Some Logos application items have to work well: your Logos.com account login, library list, resource downloading with patching, plus readable resource display of English, Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic (at a minimum, practically should be able to display many more languages). Android platform includes manufacturer customization of Google's operating system for their hardware; not know about Logos Android application customization(s) needed for various manufacturer models.
Thankful for Logos development of Android application plus Logos 4 on Mac & PC along with Logos on iOS devices. Likewise Thankful for Logos user survey.

The Android development is well underway; I can't give you a date, but I can say it really is shaping up, and it's not too far off. We're very excited about Android, and it's a very high-priority -- no need to worry that we're forgetting it!
And no need to refresh the page daily; when it's done we'll make sure you hear!

I'd like to volunteer as a beta tester (or alpha tester for that matter). :^)
