Release Notes for 4.3 Beta 5 have been updated with the following information:

  • Diagnostic Logging
    • Full Logging has been disabled to improve performance in the program. Logging can be enabled temporarily or permanently by following the steps below:
      • Temporary logging: Open Logos 4 by pressing the Command key immediately after clicking the icon in the Dock, keeping Cmd held down until the Sign In window appears. Click the Sign In button to open the program with logging enabled for that session.
      • Permanent logging: Quit Logos 4 and open the Terminal utility. Enter defaults write com.logos.Logos_Bible_Software_4 LoggingEnabled -bool YES.
      • Disable Permanent logging: Quit Logos 4 and open the Terminal utility. Enter defaults write com.logos.Logos_Bible_Software_4 LoggingEnabled -bool NO.
    • Crash logs will still be generated with logging disabled; however, if a crash occurs, development will need the Logos4.log or Indexer.log as well.

Yes, thanks; I'm sure it will be changed when 4.3 ships.

  • Have you seen the opinions on that expressed in this thread?

Suspect some Logos developers have read opinions expressed in this thread since this thread (High CPU Usage) and Install on SSD references were included in Suggestion: "Optional Scripts" folder ?

Not that I understand computers well enough to know for sure what "scripts" are, but that sounds like a good idea.

Like a script for a play (or movie) so people know what to say and do next, a computer "script" automates some actions.

Updated Suggestion: "Optional Scripts" folder ? post with folder name change along with pondering creation of many scripts.

Yeah, I assumed something like that. Smile

A File folder wouldn't be of much use until they've made it possible to use those files on Mac, would it?

Option: can try an Applescript application to display Diagnostic Logging, optionally change setting if Logos 4.3 Beta 5 installed => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/33530/253083.aspx#253083
