I cannot seem to deselect the four boxes below and have it stick. Every time I open it, they are checked again. I don't want anything populating unless I click on it. Is this a bug?

More likely, it is a poor design choice. I would also find it less than ideal.

This is mentioned in the release notes as a new feature:

    New Features

    • Exegetical Guide
      • The default “Parts of Speech” setting in the “Word by Word” section is now “Include only these parts of speech” with only Verbs, Nouns, Adjectives and Adverbs selected. Other parts of speech will be displayed, but will be grayed out. Clicking on a grayed-out word will generate data and navigate to the result.

Just because it is default, does not mean it can't me customized, right?

I now have to add that for the second time, clicking on the X at the end of the list of tabs, while the EG is focused, has completely locked up L4, necessitating a forced quit. It has not happened every time, but has twice. I must say though, L4 is running faster than it ever has before. If it were not for this lock up, I would say it was ready for production on my machine. I suppose I need to turn on logging in order to repeat the freeze and capture logs? But not sure how this is done now...

I was able to reproduce the lock up when closing the EG after making a change to settings. I'll submit logs from my system. The instructions for enabling logging temporarily or permanently are in the release notes.

I'll report the other concerns with the settings as well. Thanks.  Edit:  This is a known issue of the Word by Word section not remembering settings, including the selected resource. It will be fixed in a future release.

Thank you for the information, Melissa. Have I told you lately what a valuable asset you are to Logos and to the user community?

Melissa, I don't think this was intended but when I read your comment I had to check if it was "known" from v4.2 and found that the problem does not occur there ie. it is unique to this beta.  So I trust that the "future release" will be a 4.3 beta!

As with the freeze on Search Analysis, this is another "Known Issue" that was not documented in the Release Notes.

Correct - it is clearly a bug.

Dewayne ~  Does this appear to be working now in Beta 7 without locking up?

In beta 7, it no longer locks up. However, I am still unable to modify the selections without them returning to the default.

This is a known issue that is not fixed yet.
