Yes, me too, but still it is a lot of money. On the other hand, it is unique possibility to get this set of commentaries that "cheap" [:)]

Thank you for the reminder. I jumped in at the beginning when ECC was first announced thinking that I would make a final decision later (and that it would be easier to make). However, looking at the release dates makes me wonder about the wisdom of purchasing this set now--especially as I consider my age, preaching/teaching schedule, and other factors relevant to my situation.

According to this schedule it will be 4 1/2 years before I have half the set (2 vols scheduled for 2015 ship in December). I like what I see and do think that the ECC would be a valuable addition to my library but I'm still on the fence for another day.

I weigh 22 stone and smoke and I am still buying it.

Not necessarily. You are assuming all the TBA titles ship in 2019 or later. I bet we see about 6 of the TBA volumes in the next four years.

If I were writing a volume for this commentary series there are four I would not want to be responsible for:

1. The first one shipping, because everyone will critique the whole series based on the first volume.
2. The commentary on Revelation, 80% of your readers will disagree with your comments.
3. The commentary on Psalms, because it is more like a whole series just by itself.
4. The last volume shipping, because everyone will call you the "slow-poke."

While you await the EEC volume on Psalms you can fall back on Hengstenberg's  Commentary on the Psalms (3 vols.)

The different payment plans make it more affordable. The five-year/10 installment plan is more like a subscription model. Instead of fruit-of-the month club, we get a commentaries. [C]
