So how do you go about deleting a book. I am guessing I have to wait until beta testing ends?
Personal Books can't be deleted in Beta 6; see the Known Issues (http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4.3_Beta_6#Known_Issues).
Thnks for confirmation.
Hi Bradley
Just double-checking! Do you expect this capability to be added at some stage?
Graham
Do you expect this capability to be added at some stage?
I would hope so!
What happens if you compile a book and someone spots an error?? Do that a few times and you'd have 45 copies of something that's useless
Currently, even though we can't delete books, we can edit and recompile new versions of the ones we create.
What if we're very impatient and didn't realize this limitation and then created a "test book" and then the real book and now gotta think up another project to edit the test book into? [:$]
Robert, just focus on the increased resource count in your library
Oh..Damian...I am...!
I'm working on a copy of the Book of Mormon as we speak....it's more work than I thought to get good formatting.

Yes; it's already implemented on Mac. [:)]

Good morning Bradley and welcome to "The Day After" on the beta forum.
So Mac is finally beating windows on something...this is a sad sad day in my Windows-based household [:P]

Along side my real PBB's I am keeping one "test book" around called Foo (the programmer's favorite junk name for anything) and then I can reuse it to test whatever I want.
Thanks, Bradley, for the confirmation
That's nice. [:D] Thanks for the info.

I feel your pain, but it does not take the smile off my face. [:D]
No, Robert, I won't say it. [:D]

Hmmm... another reason to convert to MAC. I think I need some counseling[:)].

My joy was short-lived. While the documents disappear from the Personal Books window, they are still in the Library.
My gloating was premature. The deletion was only half-way. See my post above. [:'(]

Can you hide them on the Mac side? I tried on Windows, and it didn't work.
No, Robert, I won't say it.

That is an excellent idea
That's as it should be, I think. The PB window is an editing/creating window. I think it's good that you can 'lock' a PBB by deleting the editable version but keeping the compiled version.
How do you edit, and recompile once you built the book? I missed the instructions on that.

Edit the Word .docx file that was originally compiled and save it back to the same location, go back to Personal Books tool, click on that book to get into Edit mode, click Build book. Alternatively, if you've saved the document to a new location or filename, then you'll need to click Add file... select the new name/location, click Open on that dialog box, then click Build book.
Thanks

The "Delete" feature is not fully implemented yet; the final version of Delete will remove the book from the Personal Books panel, as well as remove the resource from the Library and your hard disk. (We haven't currently planned a feature to "lock" a book for editing/recompilation.)
Thank you for the information. I must have read more into your earlier post than you intended.
No, that was my mistake; I was under the false impression that more of the "Delete" functionality was implemented on Mac than was actually the case. Sorry for the confusion.

No problem.

Sorry that I had missed your question until this afternoon. I was able to successfully hide 4 of the PBBs I had created as test documents. Would not have created so many, but I was under the mistaken impression that they could be deleted.

Cannot help myself. [:D] Every time I see a WVa license plate on I-74, I think of you, but so far, I have not run any of them into the ditch. [8-|]
