Keep Smiling 4 Jesus :):

Noticed bidding progress now appears to be 60 % so need more bidders at $ 40 (or more) to cover estimated production cost of 18,934 pages in 38 volumes by 30 authors.

Community Pricing:

...As a commentary written by preachers forpreachers, the Preacher’s Homiletic Commentary is uniquely designed to foster the kind of biblical study that produces engaging and clear sermons. For every chapter of the Bible, the commentary contains a section on preaching themes, which are organized topically, conceptually, and chronologically. Significant theological themes are also outlined for each section of the Bible, and homiletic notes are provided. The authors have also solicited and summarized commentary from a wide range of contributors to Biblical, historical, and theological scholarship, drawing from the collective wisdom of those who understand that good preaching has its origin in Biblical study. This work ranks among the few Bible commentaries that remain practical and accessible without compromising scholarship, making it an integral part of sermon planning and preparation.

I'm SO in for $40!  Cool

Just imagine having this set of books in a collection and making it a part of your passage guide. It will look up everywhere where that text may be mentioned as a part of an outline.

Are you trying to bump this thread, Pastor Jesse? Wink

EDIT: Not that I'm complaining, since I want this badly.

Yes. Myself and a few other guys have been trying to get this set out of community pricing for months. A lot of folks out thete have Lange's commentary and this one is similar to it butt much more homiletical in style.

Under community pricing. This title comes up as #1 in sales:

http://www.logos.com/products/search?Status=Community+Pricing&start=&sort=bestselling&pageSize=15

It must have a high production cost. It's nearly 19,000 pages. I can't wait to get into this set.

Imagine doing topical studies on such topics as: God's love heaven Salvation creation grace sin You could do topical studies of the use of words in a single book such as: Create in Genesis love in John Holy Spirit in Acts Pray in Psalms King in Matthew This set is a Preaching goldmine. Somebody out there that has this set please tell us why we need it.

Is this showing up that perhaps $40 is just too optimistic?

If everyone lifted their bid to $50 (or $60) it would still be a great bargain but would be closer to meeting the costs?  I know the lowest price is most appealing but this one has been waiting a long time to even get to the current ~60% complete.

Hmmm, sounds like spam to me.  Should we report this?

I am not sure what we need to do to get this out of community pricing.

I would be willing to bid 50 dollars but I am not sure that this would be enough to get it up.

Any thoughts or suggestions out there? What do some of you others think about raising our bids?

I placed a bid of $60 back in 2010 also.  I have the hard back copy; but would love to have an electronic copy I can carry with me.

Count me in to do whatever is necessary to get this out of Community pricing and into our electronic libraries.  Big Smile

I am not going to give up on getting this set published.

Other sermon set's have recently made it into publication from community pricing that is not even close to being as good as this set is in my humble opinion.
