4.2b SR-2 (v4.22.5.1115) shipping soon

4.2b SR-2 (v4.22.5.1115) will ship later this evening or early tomorrow to Mac Users.

Once the update has shipped, if you have automatic updates turned on, 4.2b SR-2 will be downloaded automatically the next time your system checks for updates. Enter "update now" into the Command box to download the update right away, once it has shipped.

The 4.3 Betas show performance improvements. Release of 4.3 Stable may be a month away—Just a wild guess as I have no inside info

As the release notes mention, the primary purpose for the service release is compatibility with the soon-to-be-released OS X Lion. The previous version would crash under Lion; the service release fixes the incompatibilities.

Performance improvements and other bug fixes, etc, will be out in 4.3.

You are better off to skip this "update." It has ruined what had become at least a usable program. Scrolling does not work. Opening new resources is iffy. If things don't get better in a couple of days, I will cancel my pending orders and learn to live with the smaller library that the other guys have.

Your issues do not sound typical. We will be able to offer better assistance if you start a new thread in which you explain in greater detail what problems you are facing.

Wonder if indexing in progress ? (would slow down scrolling and opening resources).

Apologies: as a Logos user, not know timeframe for stable Mac release fix.

Recently upgraded my Mac stable installation to 4.3 Beta 11 (using default channel) so cannot replicate 4.2b SR-2 issue(s). Also have option to try Personal Book Builder (PBB) in 4.3 Beta for free: PBB resource license will expire when 4.3 stable release ships.

One "update" skip option is installing current 4.3 Beta to use known improvements, including scrolling => Scrolling: Reverse Interlinear Bible, which can be very slow at times Also verified 4.3 Beta 12 downloading of resources is much improved. Caveat: may need to rebuild Bible and Library indexes (can take hours).

Wiki has => Logos 4 Beta Program page with information and risks: could join 4.3 Beta development cycle, then transition to 4.3 stable release using set update channel to default command (receive remaining 4.3 Beta releases then Stable 4.3 updates). If want to skip over remaining 4.3 Beta releases, can use command set update channel to stable

If encounter Logos 4 Mac Beta issue, can post in Mac Beta forum for support and discussion. Early 4.3 Beta releases crashed a lot for many; now seems stable enough for daily use.

Looking at Logos 4.3 Beta 12 release notes, noticed known issues focus on Personal Book Builder (PBB), which is a new 4.3 feature. Once PBB ready for stable use, anticipating 4.3 release candidate (followed by stable release). For past 6 weeks, Logos has released an updated Beta each Tuesday. Once stable 4.3 released, Logos may return to 2 weeks between Beta releases (also may be ~ 4 weeks after release candidate before next Beta appears). Am aware of morph visual filter creation bug fix coming in 4.3 Beta 13 => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/35711/268934.aspx#268934 (if current Beta release history repeats, should be available in 4 days: Tue 19 July).

I can "fix" everything by not letting L4 Mac use the Internet. There is something about the Internet sync. causes the problem. It is not the Internet connection itself because I have used connections in three different places - always the same problems. When I don't use the Internet, the program works quite well.

Again, I'd encourage you to start a new thread explaining the issues that you have when you let Logos 4 use the Internet. It is very difficult for us to fix issues without knowing how to reproduce them [:)].
