Both of my computers finished indexing yesterday. One lists 894 resources in the library and the other lists 868. I checked, and both resource folders have the same number of items. What's up with that?
Hi.
I have almost the same problem, with a huge difference. I have a Mac and a Windows pc. The Windows lists 1,318 resources (no more download of resources), but my Mac lists only 550 resources, and the download, as the index, has finished.
I've tried to restart my computer and reinstall the software on Mac to see if it works (download everything I own), but of no avail. I still have only 550 resources on my Mac. [:(]
I know that some features of the synch is working. I prioritized a commentary on Windows and my Mac ( Alpha 2) showed me so. But no synch with the resources. Resources: 1,318 (Windows) vs. 550 (Mac).
Please, somebody help me. [*-)]
Hmm... you may need to post your logs and someone in the development team will have to help with that one. If you don't hear form them tomorrow with a reply to this thread, post here again and bump it up to get their attention.
Anyone from Logos responding to Mac posts on this forum?
This is the Logos log of my Mac.
I'm having a similar problem. PC resources: 949, Mac resources: 194. I had foolishly assumed that it would download all the same materials for both systems
Differences in resources between Mac and Windows: 1318 (WIndows) vs. 1306 (Mac). I copied the ".../Data/{random}/" files from Windows to Mac, because Mac stopped download with only 550 resources listed in the library.
Now the difference is only 12. [^o)]

Could the difference be the resources that actually make the homepage features run...or something along those lines? I recall Bob saying in another post that the Mac homepage would run on a different technology than the Windows homepage. Perhaps certain resources need to be formatted a certain way to work in the homepage. Perhaps the Mac engine does not recognize resources formatted specially for the windows engine. This is only a guess...
Blessings,
Michael Kares
Good thinking Michael, and that may be the difference for Jazanias, but the difference in resources that I'm seeing are between two different Macs. One install of v.4 has 30 fewer books in the library than the other. And yet the contents of the resources folder on both machines are exactly the same.
Perhaps the Mac engine does not recognize resources formatted specially for the windows engine. This is only a guess...
When I say resources I mean library list, that is, books.
I am running Logos 4 mac Alpha 2 and Logos 4 under VMWARE Vista. I noticed that my library book sizes were different. I manual went through them and found the following.
Vista/Logos 4 has 8 special summary items, eg Church History 27-341 AD, Israels Judges, Old Testament Books etc
No biggy they dont appear in Mac Alpha - I imagine that these special listing will come.
What is looking like a "bug" is that my Vista version has "Images from the Illustrated Bible Treasury" which my Mac does not AND my Mac (in Logos 3 (1.2..) and 4) has the "Dictionary of Biblical Imagery", but this does not appear in my Vista version.
Now the "Images from the Illustrated Bible Treasury" is a basic title under the resources so it not appearing on my Mac is weird. Bug for Mac version?
The "Dictionary of Biblical Imagery" I notice is not listed on the Logos website as a resource (came off an old Nelson disc I have) so I wonder how (if) this can be migrated to my Vista version?
